Would you go to a bbq this weekend?

Friends have invited us over. We have early teen children who know all about 2 metre rule.
Friends have a large garden and a outdoor loo so no need to go into their house at all.

Also live in a rural position with no close neighbours.

No.

But I’m sure lots will.

GabsAlot · 22/05/2020 21:01

dont know how i missed your update but youre even more out of order your more likely to be carrying it so could pass it on but aq slong aq su dont mind

fluffi · 22/05/2020 21:04

Definitely not. Its not allowed in this phase of social distancing and its completely unnecessary.

MrsGrindah · 22/05/2020 21:06

@Apinchofsalt Your post is what I say pretty much every day to my DH who is constantly looking to bend the rules. Go ahead...but don’t come crying to me when you can’t breathe. And I know that’s an awful thing to say but that’s true...tens of thousands have died for gods sake.

teenagetantrums · 22/05/2020 21:07

Well I'm a key workers no socially distancing at work. I probably wouldn't go as I might have virus. I dont want to infect friends and family. But l have had a BBQ at co workers house no danger with that

OneNewName · 22/05/2020 21:14

No because the r is still high and we are not meant to for a reason.

OneNewName · 22/05/2020 21:15

Just read your update. If you're a keyworkwr thanks a fucking bunch for putting other people at risk. Hmm

Doryhunky · 22/05/2020 21:16

No.

Areyouactuallyseriousrightnow · 22/05/2020 21:17

No. Not because I think this is a high risk situation, in and of itself it isn’t, but because any of these rule breaks that seem innocuous enough in themselves/ seeing people in garden from a distance, groups meeting in park from a distance, are only low risk because the majority of us aren’t doing it. If we were all doing these things then they would very quickly become unsafe- too many people/too little space to maintain distance and lack of contact and infection levels would significantly rise again.

Happymum12345 · 22/05/2020 21:34

Figgygal · 22/05/2020 21:50

No
And as a key worker you should know fucking better

venusandmars · 22/05/2020 21:57

No.
And an outdoor toilet? Still all the same people using it, touching the door handle, touching the taps, touching the flush... It's not magically OK because it's outdoors.

RoosterPie · 22/05/2020 22:13

i think it’s time everyone started to get a grip about the actual risk you young, fit healthy people

I agree in terms of people hand wringing about going back to work etc but that’s not the issue here. The issue isn’t the risk to the OP personally but to her passing it on me spreading it at a time we are trying to keep R down.

amusedbush · 22/05/2020 22:15

No.

My parents had my brother and SIL round for a BBQ last week (we’re in Scotland, so DEFINITELY not allowed) and I’m pissed off at the lot of them. So unnecessary and her entitled attitude about how she’s ‘bored and lonely’ is getting right on my nerves.

dicksplash · 22/05/2020 22:19

No. Its not allowed. Rules should only be broken for essential things and a bbq with friends is not essential.

missmouse101 · 22/05/2020 22:31

Of course not. Christ on a bike...Hmm

StealthPolarBear · 22/05/2020 23:02

Janaih that's interesting. I'd assumed it was law. So what are people getting fined for?

amazonianwoman · 22/05/2020 23:14

No!

SeaShells31 · 22/05/2020 23:18

No

Chillipeanuts · 22/05/2020 23:19

No

Jasquers · 22/05/2020 23:26

And this is exactly why our death toll is so high.....selfish ignorant people.

sniffysnifferson · 22/05/2020 23:26

No! What makes you and your family so special that you don't have to abide by the current rules in force?
Why are people so bloody selfish and think the rules dont apply because insert some lame excuse
