Would you go to a bbq this weekend?

Friends have invited us over. We have early teen children who know all about 2 metre rule.
Friends have a large garden and a outdoor loo so no need to go into their house at all.

Also live in a rural position with no close neighbours.

I would if I fancied it

Personally I’d rather go to a bbq where I didn’t have to distance so would rather hold off or just make a decision to bbq with immediate family who had been isolating and decide to not distance

coffeeandflowers · 22/05/2020 12:06

No

thatcarolebaskinbitch · 22/05/2020 12:06

No!!

moveandmove · 22/05/2020 12:07

No way.

VaTeLaverLesMains · 22/05/2020 12:08

No, I am wanting this pandemic to be over as soon as possible as I am shielding so would rather people would avoid spreading it.

NoToast · 22/05/2020 12:08

No.

IncrediblySadToo · 22/05/2020 12:10

No

Toilet outside...still everyone touching the door/lock/seat/sink etc

BBQ so there will be communal food.

2m is further than people realise AND gets smaller with every drink.

...and the guidance is there for EVERYONE not just some people. The sooner we get the transmission rate down the sooner we can ALL move forward. People thinking they're special is just going to make it worse for everyone.

Have a BBQ at home with your own family - if you can't do something else!

SunflowerSeedsForever · 22/05/2020 12:11

It is very windy and rain is due?

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 22/05/2020 12:13

In Scotland from next Thurs, yes. If it’s only one other household and they use the loo indoors so it’s just your family using the outside one.

OldEvilOwl · 22/05/2020 12:20

NO!! I can't believe how many people are saying they would go! Angry

Sn0tnose · 22/05/2020 12:22

No, definitely not.

Even if Boris announced this afternoon that it’s ok to attend bbqs at your neighbour’s house, I wouldn’t be going anywhere unnecessary until that R rate is much lower.

Keepyourginup · 22/05/2020 12:24

No, still meant to be in lockdown. It's a slippery slope once people start justifying why it's ok.....

Itisbetter · 22/05/2020 12:24

No.

Apinchofsalt · 22/05/2020 12:28

No. But if you do and you happen to catch the virus I hope you are able to deal with it at home and don’t want to use the NHS for anything.

Nearlyalmost50 · 22/05/2020 12:29

No, it doesn't appeal to me at the moment.

I love a BBQ but not if I have to think about touching things/distancing/invisible germs whilst socializing.

Rather have a takeaway at home and a good chat on the phone with my friends.

Tiramisuiloveyou · 22/05/2020 12:29

No

You shouldn’t be using a shared loo with another household unless its cleaned properly every time it is used, no sharing food and drink and as others have said the 2M rule will get smaller with every drink. You would have to be closer than 2M to top someones glass up and if they were BBQing in the traditional way you would be closer than 2M for them to pop a freshly cooked burger/piece of chicken on your plate etc. Just too many risks here. Have a BBQ with your own family and FT one another.

octoberfarm · 22/05/2020 12:30

No. It just isn't worth the risk.

runwithme · 22/05/2020 12:30

No. It's not worth it. Cant believe people are considering it
