Puddled - love it.

We could if not sewing teachers buy badges. Then could wear them so that we recognise each other. Masonic like or what Grin

Found a lovely selection in this shop.

Aldi are going Harry Potter mad on Sunday, I actually fancy the invisibility cloak.

Mascotte · 21/05/2020 23:32

Can I have a robe with a flattering hood..? Drapey, I'm thinking.

@TitianaTitsling yes, they really are a cult!

And hi. @Lollyneenah

Jourdain11 · 21/05/2020 23:39

Check-in. DD1 said to me today, "Mum, I've just had a thought. If everyone carries a meter stick to school they could point them at each other and we'd always be two meters apart ." And then she sort of huffed and sighed. "I don't know why they haven't thought of it. It's so simple."

Let's get the 8 year olds to advise the DfE 😃

justasking111 · 21/05/2020 23:40

Remember that scottish widows cape, now that was quite something.

@Mrsfrumble that's so sad, hope your DD has a better day tomorrow. See if you can factor something 'normal' into your day.

Mascotte · 21/05/2020 23:46

@justasking.. yes! And I'll look mystically not the distance at all times

LilacTree1 · 21/05/2020 23:50

Scottish Widows is exactly what I was thinking.

Jordain- I was going to make 2m diameter tutus.

Dammit, I really should have to learned to sew!

Jourdain, glad you are feeling a bit better now- have been wondering how you were faring.

I don't know why they haven't thought of it
Good thinking on your wee girl's part, but I suspect they might have thought of it, got briefly excited, and then abandoned on the usual "you'll have someone's eye out with that" grounds... tchah, they take the fun out of everything if you let 'em... Wink

Campervan69 · 22/05/2020 00:06

Hi all. Busy day so just catching up.

The anti Dementors Cloak of Sanity is the new Mumsnet scarf Smile

You are the only oasis of Sanity on the internet at the moment. I can't even bear Facebook ATM.

fartingsparkles · 22/05/2020 00:06

Ahh my lovely homies (homicidal maniacs that is!)

Are we The Cult, or the Blue Oyster Cult? Given the latter's Don't Fear The Reaper song, I think our culty cloaks should at least have blue piping or lining or something!

Hugs to all those, and the dcs who are 'not alright' xxx

MorrisZapp · 22/05/2020 00:23

Nippy can fuck off. Fragile progress, come off it. DP can at least play golf next Thursday but in literally the most predictable move of all time, two of his mates are driving down to just the other side of the border to get a game in this week.

Did Nicola not think that holding us back would result in daftness like this? Even Janey Godley can't come up with a fresh way of presenting this pish.

Waleshasgonecompletelycrazy · 22/05/2020 01:29

I drank far too much tonight. My liver can’t take much more lockdown! Poor kids can’t even drink it away. I’m definitely at blowing point with it all.

TitianaTitsling · 22/05/2020 06:47

@Waleshasgonecompletelycrazy the dementoring completely ruined my lock down health kick as I had to imbibe significantly to cope with the doom and gloom. My liver is destroyed!

BillywilliamV · 22/05/2020 07:05

Neighbours having fish and chip evening today. Have bulk order with local pub and we are all going to sit on our drives and eat fish and chips. This was after the wild success of our VE Day celebration. My poor 16yo is so excited, fake tan and everything. She has LITERALLY nothing else to look forward to!

Waleshasgonecompletelycrazy · 22/05/2020 07:07

@titianatitsling - what a user name! I think the booze is both saving and destroying me! I really need to be able to legally have a cuppa with someone else and listen to my dd playing with a friend. I’ve never been depressed like this before. It must be awful for so many but the official mantra is stay home still (wales). No end in sight...

MinnieMountain · 22/05/2020 07:08

I think DS is a secret dementor- he's refused to leave the house/garden today.

I'm an atheist but definitely up for joining a cult. It sounds much more fun than a religion.

MIL is taking DS to her empty house tomorrow. DH and I tied ourselves in knots working out whether or not it's "allowed" Blush

Orangeblossom78 · 22/05/2020 07:10

Morning. Bit of dementoring from the Times today over sunbathers

Coronavirus: Sunseekers ‘could return lockdown to square one’

www.thetimes.co.uk/edition/news/coronavirus-sunseekers-could-return-lockdown-to-square-one-bb0jc7x8x

Thought it was much less likely to catch it outside. Comments that social distancing is not enforceable by police so difficult to do anything about.

Waleshasgonecompletelycrazy · 22/05/2020 07:12

@minniemountain - maybe not a cult but definitely up for a resistance where you can go to empty houses without getting a stomach ulcer. My neighbour wants to help his son move house. He’s the most honest, law abiding man and he’s scared of being arrested if he heads towards the border. How is ok to do this to a country?

bulletjournalbilly · 22/05/2020 07:16

How has it taken me so long to find my people!!!! I'm here! Don't let me go ...

Orangeblossom78 · 22/05/2020 07:17

"these threads move fast but never trend'

That is true. At least do not catch in dementors,

MinnieMountain · 22/05/2020 07:39

That's ridiculous @Waleshasgonecompletelycrazy.

I upset my dad suggesting that we might not be able to get to visit him in Pembrokeshire in August, but the way things are going for you guys... It makes me glad I left.

BarkandCheese · 22/05/2020 07:45

Morning all!

I’m glad these threads don’t trend, we’d get an influx of dementors wanting to tell us how we’re all murderers and don’t deserve NHS treatment if we get ill.

CruCru · 22/05/2020 07:46

Ah, here’s the thread.
