Morning all, well the cafe thread is just about full so here's the new thread.

Just a reminder Florence has made pastries over night, the garden is open with the sensory garden, the cat area (with catnip bush) is available and feel free to cool your feet int the water feature.

They're a devil to clean - enjoy it whilst it lasts!

I just spotted some har gau dumplings in the freezer and my eyes narrowed in pleasure. That's lunch. Because I got stuck elsewhere for lockdown I'd forgotten they were there.

NoGravyForYou · 14/07/2020 12:54

Pancakes are my favourite 🤤

Hope you got some sleep last night @Frownette!

I have been getting anxious out of the blue since the break up, and it happened last night. Hadn't happened in a while. Ended up chatting with a guy I'd been on a date with but decided to be friends, so I'm tired 💤. Having a relaxing day here anyway!

No I didn't actually!! I thought I'd get back from my morning meetings and pass out but frustratingly enough am still going, if a little dazed! Have to set off again soon.

Do you feel like you're starting to recover a little from ex? Now, how do you get a sword into a taxi? (Moving it is always a conundrum, just run fast into the back of the cab? Antique family one.)

Any repercussions from saying to ex's girlfriend boyfriend?

AlCalavicci · 14/07/2020 14:45

Awww I got called in to a meeting about 30 seconds after my post this morning and it's been all go since.

I missed out on pancakes Sad

To keep on top of or indeed clean a oven use Lakelands own oven cleaner, it's the mutts nuts , paint it on leave for a bit wipe off no scrubbing needed , no horrid smell .

NoGravyForYou · 14/07/2020 17:22

Oh no @Frownette! I hope you get some sleep tonight!! With the sword, maybe wrap it in bin bags and pretend it's something else? Not sure what 🙈

Yeah I do feel like I'm starting to recover, don't miss him at all. I am incredibly lonely though, I miss having someone around. My best friend has some stuff going on far worse than a break up in her life so I feel like I can't ask her to give me much of her time right now.

Yes lots of repercussions, never got money that was owed to me, blocked on all forms of social media/text etc by him and his entire family and have been blocked from contacting his ( she was our) niece ever again. Heartbroken over that, I've known her her whole life. Oh and we live in a small town where I appear to be being bad mouthed left right and centre. I'm a bit in my own bubble right now so that's not affecting me too much though.

How is the rest of moving going?

sashh · 15/07/2020 07:37

Morning all.

@AlCalavicci I prefer - email Chris, answer call, let him in to the kitchen and 2 hours later the oven is sparkling.

@NoGravyForYou I saved you a couple of pancakes.

How do people feel about another Indian breakfast?

Puris, chapattis with chutneys and yogurt, the odd samosa and paneer rolls.

Frownette · 15/07/2020 07:50

Move going slowly! I'm glad you're ignoring any mutterings, it'll quiten down. Focus on study.

sashh sounds gorgeous

mogloveseggs · 15/07/2020 07:55

Morning
Sounds delicious
How is everyone today?

AlCalavicci · 15/07/2020 08:24

@sashh
I have never had a Indian breakfast ( apart from snaffing the previous nights takeaway leftovers ) can I try a bit if everything greedy anyone can come over and share if they want.
@NoGravyForYou
It is hard to get use living alone but you will do after a while.
It has some big advantages , you control the tv remote, the whole bed to yourself , eat what and when you like. The bad mouthing would get me down but they will be going on hearsay and gossip so try not to let it get to you , easier said than done I know.
@Frownette
Moving your sword, style it out and hire a gladiator costume ( there is a hire shop up the road from sashh cafe) leap on the horse and carriage taxi and shout charge Grin

Frownette · 15/07/2020 09:07

Alcalavicci I decided not to move it. It's such a pain, last time I had to move it I dialled 101 first and said I needed to carry
a sword around the corner, and the bloke said wrap it in a blanket. I felt faintly suspicious at that and said "you won't arrest me? You promise?" And of course I tripped on the blanket and was on the pavement laughing nervously at holding a pink woollen blanket and a sword.

So what's for brekkie?

AlCalavicci · 15/07/2020 09:46

@Frownette
Lol I have a image of you sprawled on the floor clutching a pink blanket and muttering to it I am not going to hurt anyone with you.

sashh · 15/07/2020 10:14

The samosas and rolls are frying, various chutneys on the table and some mince fruit, panjabi tinda.

Florence is making Indian tea but I also have ordinary tea and coffee.

NoGravyForYou · 15/07/2020 11:32

You're a gem @sashh

I've literally never been single in my whole adult life, we were together since school. So I'm just learning to be ok with my own company. I'll figure it all out.

@mogloveseggs how are you this morning?

@Frownette hope the move is done soon. That story of the sword gave me a huge giggle 😂

mogloveseggs · 15/07/2020 17:52

@NoGravyForYou I'm ok thank you
Living alone is great. I miss it dearly.
If I could live next door to dh I would

sashh · 16/07/2020 07:54

Morning All.

Sorry for the late start, I seem to be sleeping a lot at the moment, probably still getting over whatever virus I had.

I'm just going to throw the contents of the fridge on the plancher. Florence, has of course been busy baking overnight.

@NoGravyForYou living alone is great once you get used to it. You can defrost the fridge at 2 am or go to bed with a book at 6pm.

You will discover how much TV there is that you didn't watch because you had to agree on something to watch together.

@mogloveseggs

One of Val McDermot characters lives in a cottage, her boyfriend lives nextt door and they have a conservatory that links the two at the back.

Morning @sashh 👋🏻

No need to apologise, we can all help ourselves :) would you like a tea?
Miserable day here, took little one for a walk but it’s been on and off raining. So far this morning I’ve put the washing out and brought it back in.....3 times!!

notthemum · 16/07/2020 11:35

Am I too late for a bacon sarnie, don't mind doing it myself ? Haven't been up long. I am so bored at the moment, I really need a new job.
I have been living on my own for quite a while. First couple of nights I hated it. I was sure the house was making noises and I got up every time. But them as pp have said I got used to reading all day if I wanted to, going out when and where and not having to tell anyone, watching what I wanted and it was fab.
I am about to move in with DP now though. Desperate to win the lottery so we can be together but have plenty of our own space though.

sashh · 17/07/2020 07:03

Morning all.

Well either I'm still recovering from the virus or it's the new bed linen I got last week.

As you are all so good at cooking your own I'll just start up the plancher and open the pantry.

It will be like an episode of master chef.

NoGravyForYou · 17/07/2020 07:18

Morning @sashh I'm glad you're getting some decent sleep!

I'm going to throw on a pot of porridge if anyone would like some. Plenty of toppings available; berries, stewed apple, banana, honey, chocolate spread.

How is everyone today? It's Friday so that's always good!!

Frownette · 17/07/2020 07:19

New place is really strange, it's like living in a showroom. So pristine it's unreal.

Please can someone make me breakfast? Full veggie fry up?

NoGravyForYou · 17/07/2020 07:29

Is the move totally complete then @Frownette?

Veggie sausages, fried onions, beans, grilled tomatoes and some hash browns good for you?

Frownette · 17/07/2020 07:40

Yay sounds lovely thanks! It's tripping me out a bit here. I put the tv on just for some noise

notthemum · 17/07/2020 08:09

God, I'm starving. Full English for me I think, with those little tatters instead of eggs.
It won't take long to get your new place comfortable, surround yourself with things you love and have good look around the area. I'm sure you will soon feel that you have always been there.

Frownette · 17/07/2020 08:12

How are you getting on @notthemum?

mogloveseggs · 17/07/2020 08:24
