Be honest, would you change it? Pictured attached

It's my nose. I've always felt so uncomfortable by it. I'm unsure if it's a genuine unsightly nose, because let's be honest some of us do just have not so nice features, or if I'm a bit warped and it's fine.

I've read that noses have names but I've never seen one that matches mine. At all.

Would you change it? I'm very happy to receive negative criticism on my nose. I know myself that it isn't pretty just wondering if you'd bother with surgery? I would have the cash to do it soon I hope

The thing is that normally we don't see ourselves in profile, we see ourselves straight on in photos or in the mirror. So we're not used to it.

I look fine face on, but I hate my profile, the shape of my nose from the side is awful. So I rarely look and just forget about it. The only time I tend to be aware of it is in changing rooms where they have three way mirrors and I can't avoid it.

But it also made me start looking at side on photos of celebs, and realising that often their noses aren't always great from the side either even if face on they're considered to be very good looking. It's just the way noses are!

And PS - how often do you actively study your friends' noses? Even if you see them briefly in profile, your mental image of them remains the one you always see.

I did do that for a very brief period, and realised that most of them look quite different if you pay enough attention. But the brain doesn't work like that. It naturally takes shortcuts to reduce the amount of information it has to process, so doesn't bother to calculate that it's seeing something new, it carries on seeing what it always sees.

Oh I really wouldn't OP. It's a nice nose, it suits you and it would be awful to not like the results and realise your nose suited you once it was too late.

If you obsess about a body part it is always going to start to look exaggerated and weird to you, when it doesn't in reality. Noses are weird anyway. The more you think about them, the more weird it is that there's a sticking-out thing sat in the middle of your face. But you need to see it as a whole, your nose as part of your face, and you actually look lovely and beautiful.

Learning to love and accept yourself as you are would be a better route to take if you can. I do understand why some people choose surgery, but I also think it rarely helps.

I think your nose is fine. I have a bump in my nose and got a non surgical rhinoplasty (filler to even out the bump) no one noticed I'd had it done but I loved the result bump gone but I didn't look different. And it's so much cheaper than an operation

I did read that everyone's nose looks bigger in selfies as the phone camera is too close to your face. Could it be that? Do you prefer photos of yourself taken by other people, that aren't so close up?

If it bothers you then it doesn’t matter what other people say, i think your nose looks fine, but it how you feel that matters.
I have to say that don’t like my nose, and if I had the money I would change it , would get rid of the bump and slightly narrow the tip, but that’s me, not you.

I would have that nose. My 'honker' is awful and is inhabited by bobbly moles. Now also with thread veins and broken blood vessels. I squint when I look in the mirror so as not to see it. I think nose surgery can go very wrong and there is no going back, and it opens more doors to be less satisfied with other parts of the body. The issue is psychological and not physical. Maybe get some help with self esteem issues.

Google Abraham Tamir’s study on nose shapes if you really want a ‘name’ for your nose shape. I would say from that study yours is a fleshy nose which is the most common nose shape there is.

Its a lovely nose ...same shape as my daughters so I would say that but I like it.

No I wouldn’t change it, better the devil you nose! You also have beautiful teeth!

I saw this mirror before the lockdown, its expensive but i think using it (and reading it) every day might help

Looks like a normal nose to me. Everyone has something they don’t like. Try to focus on what you do like. Your face is unique, celebrate it.
