So I'm 30 on Monday.
In lockdown.

Obviously not what I had planned. While we weren't going to do much because I had a baby in January so I cant go out and get plastered - we were planning on a nice meal out while DS goes to Nanny's house. Which won't be happening.

Oh well, que sera, sera and all that.

Let me live vicariously and let me know how you all celebrated your 30ths! Grin

Happy Birthday for Monday! I'm 40 on Wednesday so I know how rubbish this is!!!!
I did a barge holiday for my 30th with my mates, it was awesome and very random as we we were only a couple of miles from where we all lived!
Hope you still have a fab day x

HelloMissus · 16/05/2020 19:57

Happy Bithday.
I had a week in NYC for my 30th.
On the actual day DH and I went up the twin towers Sad

FurForksSake · 16/05/2020 19:59

Happy Birthday!

I was quite pregnant with my first son, we went on holiday to the Welsh coast and stayed in an old train carriage. It was lovely.

Windyatthebeach · 16/05/2020 20:00

I was heavily pregnant and had no plans. While ironing I entered a radio competition and won a meal out for 2!!
Went out on the actual birthday!!
Nice surprise!

nottomgates · 16/05/2020 20:01

I stayed in the Alton Towers hotel for my 30th and went into Alton Towers.

GloriaMaximus · 16/05/2020 20:02

In lockdown ... I'm going to make up for it next year!!

Lostvoiced · 16/05/2020 20:02

@Careylisa I know a lot of people having 'milestone' birthdays this year that are gonna get cancelled, it's such a bugger! Happy Birthday for Wednesday Smile

@HelloMissus Week in NYC sounds lovely- though I imagine it's very strange to have been up the twin towers! Sad

@FurForksSake That sounds absolutely lovely. My in laws go to Wales every year and always tell us how amazing it is there.

I went abroad with my best friend we spent the week drinking, eating and sunbathing

SapphosRock · 16/05/2020 20:04

Happy birthday! I had appendicitis and spent it in hospital. Best laid plans... My friends went ahead and had my party without me - apparently it was a blast!

lotusbell · 16/05/2020 20:05

I'm.40.on Monday, OP, happy birthday twin! Kind of!
I dont really do birthdays, didn't have a do for my 18th or 21st, I dont like being the centre of attention. For my 30th, me and 2 other friends had a 80s themed birthday party, fancy dress at a local hired venue. Birthdays in May, end of June and beginning of August so was great in the summer. I wasn't planning anything for my 40th anyway but the 3 of us were planning to go to the ballet together in October to celebrate so hopefully that will still be on.
Have a lovely day on Monday x

Cheeseycheeseycheesecheese · 16/05/2020 20:06

Following with interest as I'm 30 in October, I've paid the deposit for the venue, dh and the cake. Sent out invites and going it'll go ahead.

If not I'm going to be 30 next year instead.

SillyYak · 16/05/2020 20:08

Happy birthday OP!

I had a tea party and then a party in my garden that lasted all night, with a silent disco and all the guests camping in the field beyond.

Whopaysthebills · 16/05/2020 20:08

I honestly can't remember what I did. It was only two years ago but I think baby brain has killed off my past life and I only live this lockdown baby focused life now Blush happy birthday for Monday!

Rainb0w · 16/05/2020 20:10

I was spoilt I was gifted a belated trip to New York

Can't remember what I did on my actual day however think we had a nice cosy evening with DH cooking my favourite foods.

Be my 40th before I know it!

MsSquiz · 16/05/2020 20:11

Happy 30th for Monday!

For mine, DH and I went on a USA trip. We did Sam Francisco, Yosemite, Death Valley and Las Vegas. We were in Vegas for my actual 30th - we went on a helicopter trip over the Grand Canyon in the morning, to Gordon Ramsay's steakhouse for dinner and saw a Cirque du Soleil show.

For DH's 30th, I took him to Barcelona for a long weekend. Lots of lovely food and drink, a touristy bus trip & a trip to the Nou Camp as DH had never been

Rightbutno · 16/05/2020 20:13

I'm not a big party type. I lived away from family so I visited with my partner for a few days. On the day I had a trip with my partner, mum and sister to a petting farm. Then in the evening I went to my favourite restaurant and one of my fave bars for cocktails with my family including my grandparents. It was lovely and a a few years ago before my sister had my nieces. Who I absolutely adore but nice to have adult time while you can.

I feel on mumsnet people don't really do birthdays but I think life is hard so it's lovely to celebrate both your own and others.

Happy birthday

ParkheadParadise · 16/05/2020 20:14

I went to Cyprus with now dh.
On the actual day of my birthday he proposed while we were sitting on the beach. I wanted to phone my family back home and tell them all. He said it would be better to wait until we returned home.
That night we went out for dinner, walking into the restaurant I was met by my mum, sister's,brother's, my best friend and our dd.
It was the best night the hangover lasted 2 days.

mnahmnah · 16/05/2020 20:14

My now DH, not at the time, filled our tiny garden with a gazebo, lanterns, outdoor speakers etc. Invited all our friends for a BBQ. Loved it.

Lostvoiced · 16/05/2020 20:21

Grin Wow so many people had really great 30ths!

I've already decided I'll do it a bit bigger next year, maybe try to go away somewhere.

I do have some small plan, my DP is gonna make a roast beef and we'll watch a film with some chocolate cake- if we can manage to get some! It got taken off our shopping order. I dunno who is hoarding chocolate fudge cakes but they've got their priorities right! Grin

Esiotrot87 · 16/05/2020 20:40

I got married on my 30th birthday Grin

Settle59 · 16/05/2020 20:42

OK on my 30th - I'm going to sound like a sad case. Oh well, whatever.

OK OP I spent my 30th having a dinner party with about 2 friends who I'm not in touch with now and about 6 people I didn't know!! Guess this says a lot about my popularity!!!!

Apolloanddaphne · 16/05/2020 20:44

I was three days off my due date with my DD1. I spent the day crying because I was tired and hormonal and couldn't have a drink. It was terrible. I more than made up for it on my 40th!!
