So I'm 30 on Monday.
In lockdown.

Obviously not what I had planned. While we weren't going to do much because I had a baby in January so I cant go out and get plastered - we were planning on a nice meal out while DS goes to Nanny's house. Which won't be happening.

Oh well, que sera, sera and all that.

Let me live vicariously and let me know how you all celebrated your 30ths! Grin

Happy 30th!
My 30th was spent in a holiday rental place with friends (and DH to be) . We had a blast and it was our last big thing before babies were a factor.
My 50th was in lock down. Hopefully your 50th will be as good as my 30th!

Whatelsecouldibecalled · 17/05/2020 00:42

Happy Birthday for Monday.

For my 30th we went to Prague for the weekend and it was lovely. We nearly didn’t go as husband is military and his leave got cancelled and he got called into a drama. 12hrs before we due to fly he was told he could have his leave and we could go!

Sorry you’re stuck in lockdown...some places near me are doing afternoon tea deliveries would that be worth looking at if you’re into that sort of thing? Home made spa day? Or stay 29 for another year and celebrate next year!

Megan2018 · 17/05/2020 00:45

I don’t really remember. I bought a horse but can’t remember anything specific. Still have the horse 12 years on!

Shoxfordian · 17/05/2020 06:31

Happy Birthday for Monday!

I went to Madrid & Seville with my parents for my 30th, had a family dinner in a local pub and another night out in London with my friends

Nquartz · 17/05/2020 06:36

My birthday is a week before our wedding anniversary & it was my 30th & our one year in the same year. We went to Orlando to celebrate both & on my birthday we went to the Harry potter bit of Universal. We

Best birthday ever! We're (hopefully) going at Easter next year as it's both of our 40th birthdays

blackteaplease · 17/05/2020 06:42

Dd was 11 months old and a terrible sleeper. We had a winter bbq party at home and dh also took me to London for dinner and Les Mis while my friend babysit for us.

Jasmin82 · 17/05/2020 07:33

I spent my 30th at Crufts with my Mum. I didn't go all out due to the circumstances at the time and did a bigger birthday celebration the following year with my friend.

GrapefruitGin · 17/05/2020 07:41

I spent mine in lockdown! A surprise party and a trip away had been planned which I found out about a few weeks before as my OH of course had to cancel. Spent the day drinking, surrounded by gifts, balloons, flowers. It was actually a really busy day. The phone and doorbell didn’t stop for deliveries and people calling. I also had two surprise zoom calls from family and friends. So I actually felt incredibly loved and spoilt after all! Hope you have a great day, let us know what you end up doing!

Mesmeri · 17/05/2020 08:23

Happy birthday! I had just changed jobs and my 30th happened to fall half way through a training trip with my new company. We were in in Madrid that night, I went out drinking and dancing with some of my new colleagues. It was completely unplanned and lots of fun.

Bridgeofpies · 17/05/2020 08:31

Happy birthday!

My DD1 was 5 months old when I turned 30 and too small for me to leave (breastfed, bottle refuser) so I hired a room in a local pub for the afternoon and had a sort of afternoon tea buffet with champagne. It was fun, but I am hoping by the time it’s my 40th in 3 years time I can go on a trip! It’s DH 40th this year and I am not convinced he will be able to do any of the things he had hoped!

Sparklebelle1024 · 17/05/2020 08:48

I went to London with my sister, had an amazing time as we are both single mums so the child free carefree time was just awesome.
Missed our flight home by literally 2 minutes and had to wait 5 hours and pay out another £360 for flights home - oops 😬

Equimum · 17/05/2020 10:01

Happy birthday OP! DH is 40 next week, so I know in little how rubbish this is.

I spent my 30th in Paris with DH. I don’t actually remember how we spent the morning, but we headed to the Sacre Couer in the afternoon, and had dinner at a lovely restaurant just opposite. It was our last holiday before our eldest son was born, so was extra special!

Animum2 · 17/05/2020 11:07

For my 30th we had a family BBQ at my mum's house

40th was spent in NYC with DH Smile

BojoKilledMyMojo · 17/05/2020 21:03

Happy birthday! I went on holiday with my husband and had a get together with immediate family. I'd say I didn't want any fuss, but the reality was that nobody else was interested.

VerbenaGirl · 17/05/2020 21:11

I was pregnant and suffering from all day morning sickness, so it was pretty low key with a lovely afternoon tea. Could you get one delivered, a few places round here have started doing that? Made up for it with my 40th though!

Chicchicchicchiclana · 17/05/2020 21:14

I had a party at my shared flat and about 50 people came, all roughly the same age as me and all childless at the time. It was one of my favourite/most memorable birthdays.

motorcyclenumptiness · 17/05/2020 22:14

I went to see Travis at Shepherd's Bush EmpireSmile
Happy Birthday!

8Track · 17/05/2020 22:39

I went white water rafting, then cocktails in town with some bestest friends and their lovely husbands.

1ForAllnAllFor1 · 17/05/2020 22:40

I turned 30 in this lockdown too OP. Hurray us!

amusedbush · 17/05/2020 23:00

I turned 30 on Tuesday. I’d been dreading it because we were supposed to be flying out on holiday that morning, so I’d obviously been looking forward to that and I was so disappointed.

My parents made no effort at all (shocker) but DH bought me takeaway and I spent the entire day answering the door to delivery drivers as my friends spoiled me rotten with flowers, cards and presents.

It turned out to be the best birthday I’ve ever had, even with lockdown!

PastMyBestBeforeDate · 18/05/2020 00:34

Happy 30th Birthday @Lostvoiced

Lostvoiced · 18/05/2020 15:06

Thanks @PastMyBestBeforeDate

Mine didn’t quite work but had some good moments. I made the mistake of trying to mix two very different sets of friends & it was awkward. I’d set up a 1960s karaoke as I was born in 1965 but hardly any of my guests were willing to take part. On reflection I shouldn’t have tried to mix those friends. It made me realise who was up for fun! A guy I barely knew was more fun than some of my oldest friends!

Newuser123123 · 18/05/2020 15:31

We hired a lovely regency venue and had a garden party with jazz band, food and drink, table arrangements, fancy cake, the lot*! I love parties though and generally have a big one at home every year so I wanted it to be special!

*wasn't crazy expensive

Newuser123123 · 18/05/2020 15:36

Oh I forgot the best bit! Our children were tiny so we hired a nanny to help us with them so we could enjoy the party!
