How can I go out if no loos are open?

During lockdown I’ve been working from home and walking locally. Also a once a week supermarket trip by car.

Now you are allowed to meet one person from outside your household, as long as it’s outdoors in a park, I am desperate to meet my brother.

We live over 3 hours apart and would be happy to drive to meet half way BUT I couldn’t last the whole round trip plus time for a socially distanced walk without going to the loo! So despite it being permitted and being desperate to meet how can this work?!

Are supermarket toilets open? Perhaps meet near one and you can go in.

earlydoors42 · 13/05/2020 21:03

Sounds like you need to find somewhere to have a Nature Wee?

Frankiefree · 13/05/2020 21:04

I agree and this policy is much more difficult for women than men. I haven't even gone to the park during shutdown as I can't risk going away from my house as I need to use the toilet frequently. I can't drop much needed food at my DPs as they live half hour away and I worry I'll need the loo before I get back home.

I think motorway service stations are partially open, check ones on your route - and think about whether you really want to use them.

bluestarsatnightfall · 13/05/2020 21:04

Services are still open for toilets.

PrimeroseHillAnnie · 13/05/2020 21:05

Nature wee , love it.

BeetrootRocks · 13/05/2020 21:05

Agree that women are more affected by this.

vanillandhoney · 13/05/2020 21:06

Service stations are open as usual, or just go al fresco!

TinRoofRusty · 13/05/2020 21:08

Find a place for an al fresco pee.

Cakes4Teatime · 13/05/2020 21:09

When I’ve been out walking with my husband he’s had a wee by a tree when nobody is about. I can’t do that. Would struggle to find somewhere remote enough even if I found the act easy. I’ve only been to two different supermarkets since lockdown and loos were closed so I assumed they all are. Public loos also closed in our nearest location. My neighbour ventured to the garden centre 20 minutes drive away today and he said loos there were closed.

Yes I said the same to my DH earlier! He said oh yes we can meet my parents in a park - they live 60 miles away! He can go, I won’t.

Branleuse · 13/05/2020 21:10

Get a she-pee

Blankiefan · 13/05/2020 21:11

Would a Shewee be out of the question?

Cakes4Teatime · 13/05/2020 21:11

Ah are service stations and their loos all open? I didn’t know that. Thank you. That could make all the difference! I will investigate.

Not all service stations are open. Our drivers have been complaining about not being able to go to the toilet anywhere with services and often supermarket loos closed.

BreconBeBuggered · 13/05/2020 21:18

I'm surprised that some supermarket toilets aren't open. Perhaps if they're part of the cafe, they've left them closed? The ones at my local supermarket are open, and I'm very glad of it, given the queues to get in.
I can understand your reservations, being fairly weak of bladder myself. If you don't come across any on your route, I'd suggest wearing a loose skirt or dress, and slipping out of your underpants in the back of the car, then you don't need much more than a tree as cover yourself and can wee outdoors as freely as your DH.

Samtsirch · 13/05/2020 21:23

She wee or Tena lady?

Samtsirch · 13/05/2020 21:27

Would your brother be prepared to drive the whole journey over to your location ?
Then you could walk to your nearest park to meet him, and walk home again.

Shodan · 13/05/2020 21:31

Some petrol stations have loos that are open.

I used one myself just the other day. Was one with a Marks and Spencer's in it.

freedomyes · 13/05/2020 21:31

just find somewhere quiet and drop ya draws!

Toddlerteaplease · 13/05/2020 21:39

Plan it carefully. I met my friend in a park two hours away. I stopped at the motorway services on the way and way back. And was careful about what I drank!

lovelilies · 13/05/2020 21:41

I wee in a bush regularly these days Shock

alltoomuchrightnow · 13/05/2020 21:43

I walk for up to three hours a day, in this time I can easily have one or two nature pees..not going to let that stop me

Namechangeapril20 · 13/05/2020 21:46

My husband is a lorry driver and he hasnt come across any service stations with toilets open, sorry OP

CoronaMoaner · 13/05/2020 21:48

Same problem here!
There are a couple of places near me that I’d like to drive to to walk but the toilets are still shut.
I think the walk will be busy, so a wild wee won’t be so private....
