Not to me, but it would to DS. It would go towards ensuring that he didn’t leave uni with a bloody huge debt. DH and I benefited greatly from free university education and I’d like to make sure DS can do the same.

Not really , I have everything I need and some of what I want . Our house is ours already . I don’t care about expensive cars or holidays . If someone gave me 100k I’d either buy a house to rent out or buy a few acres of land . I’d want to invest it in something which will appreciate in value .

If it's a year's salary how would it not help if you got it in a one off payment? Of course it would help. What a daft thing to say.

Yes definitely. We could pay off the mortgage and renovate the house and I could go part time. Totally life changing for us

Pay off our mortgage, pay off our credit cards and should be enough left over for a new bathroom and possibly a nice holiday
