I love the smell...
when you go outside after it has been raining
When you enter a house and there's a roast cooking
My children first thing in the morning when they wake up

I'd give anything to smell DS' head again as a newborn. Weirdly DD didn't have that intoxicating new baby smell, she was a c section birth and I often wonder if that had something to do with it.

rain on hot earth
Matches
The sea
My dad's shed

TobyDeLaris · 11/05/2020 12:51

That's funny muminmanchester as my c section dd didn't have it and my natural birth dd did have it

Petrol
Gingerbread
Smoke from a match
Rain

Blast from the past here but anyone remember "Duraglit" in the tin?
Impregnated wadding to polish metal.
And the lid impossible to remove (for a 7yo who wanted to sniff it)

Chemicals in the old days were so different ( ie nicer)

Oranges
Line dried washing
Furniture polish (reminds me of being young and my mum cleaning the house)
Lily of the valley
Toast

Roses and woodsmoke.

@tobydelaris that's interesting! I have often though it must be to do with the birth canal rather than the amniotic fluid. I was so looking forward to it with DD but her smell was really faint and gone within a day.

My dog when he is wet..he smells gorgeous!
The fresh smell after a rain shower on a hot day.
