So many questions-like where’s the sex dungeon, why so many chairs in the bedroom?

I kinda love it. Split level always fascinates me.

leolion81 · 30/04/2020 07:40

@JacobReesMogadishu if you're sat there googling how bad Blackpool apparently is just to prove a point to a resident when you've visited what, once? Then you need to find a hobby.

This house looks lovely and is cheaper. I still can’t get my head round why the first one is so much.

Spacecudet · 30/04/2020 07:41

Wow, needs to be a listed property, preserved for future generations.

JacobReesMogadishu · 30/04/2020 07:42

@leolion81. Funnily enough I have a lot of time on my hands these days.

leolion81 · 30/04/2020 07:43

@JacobReesMogadishu oh and again, unused airport. Occasionally used for private light aircraft I think. Furiously googling to prove you know more about an area than someone who lives there Grin oh dear.

EricaNernie · 30/04/2020 07:44

fascinating

FakeFraudSquad · 30/04/2020 07:45

It’s not in Blackpool, it’s in St Annes. It’s quite average price wise for that area but with TLC I wouldn’t be surprised if it could be resold for much more. If it were further up in Lytham it would be on the market for more. Most people who live in Lytham or St Annes would be aghast at being told that they live in Blackpool... they are chalk and cheese. But again, there are actually very nice areas of Blackpool outside of the town centre areas.

It’s not Joe Longthorne or Roy Walker’s homes. Joe’s home is beautiful and his partner Jamie still lives there. And it’s in Layton not St Annes. Roy lives closer to Lytham.

whichteaareyou · 30/04/2020 07:46

Why are there so many arm chairs in the kitchen 😂😂 this house is revolting!

Francina670 · 30/04/2020 07:47

I loved it.

The owners had a bit of money and a real vision for that home when they created it in I’d guess the early 70s. It’s almost exactly as it was then because they clearly didn’t skimp on the quality. Very atmospheric. Someone needs to do a Vogue fashion shoot in there.

Triglesoffy · 30/04/2020 07:47

Forget the giraffe. Will no one mention the man?

@JacobReesMogadishu Everywhere has its bad areas. I’m in Cambridge known for its university, beautiful architecture, blah, blah, blah and there are also places around here where you wouldn’t dare park your car! If it’s not your thing then fine but you don’t have to be rude and nasty. Just don’t move there! There must be thousands of people who live there who love it for what it is and that’s the point. It’s not about having a posh postcode it’s about loving somewhere that’s your home and that brings you happiness. Don’t slate people for it

Treacletoots · 30/04/2020 07:48

Firstly. OP I have admired your username for a long time. Grin

It reminds me of a recent one near us that had a fake boat sunk into the floor of one bedroom. A 200 year old character farmhouse, with a fake boat...

FakeFraudSquad · 30/04/2020 07:49

And none of the train stations listed are the main station in Blackpool (Blackpool North) which is in an area of social deprivation.

JacobReesMogadishu · 30/04/2020 07:49

I come from a town which locally has a reputation for being rough. People in my county will always laugh when they hear where I’m from and the jokes start.

I don’t get my knickers in a twist about it. I don’t personally insult them and call them stupid, etc. I just laugh and say it’s not that bad and move on.

I was genuinely interested in why the property prices are so much for an area which has a reputation, backed up by stats for being so economically depressed.

JacobReesMogadishu · 30/04/2020 07:50

@Dita73 I haven’t slated anyone for it.

foxychox · 30/04/2020 07:50

Is it owned by a branch manager of DFS?
I love the layout and if that decor brought happiness to the current owner then fair play!

JacobReesMogadishu · 30/04/2020 07:51

@leolion81. I hardly thought Blackpool airport was going to be a major transit hub. Grin

Dita73 · 30/04/2020 07:51

@JacobReesMogadishu you’re being a snob and you know you are. You just want an argument

Hauskat · 30/04/2020 07:52

I am glad you shared this! Made my day and it isn’t even 8am. I LOVE it. They need to make it into a museum. I would put a hot tub and a swimming pool in the garden and loads of fake tropical plants. Then it would be 👌

SusieOwl4 · 30/04/2020 07:52

Check out the houses next door on street view. Nice

JacobReesMogadishu · 30/04/2020 07:52

And the furious googling consisted of looking at the map on the listing page. Grin. Oh dear indeed.

JacobReesMogadishu · 30/04/2020 07:52

@Dita73 if anyone wants an argument it’s you. Where have I slated anyone for living in Blackpool?

Fatted · 30/04/2020 07:53

People talking about Blackpool clearly do not know the area. Because it's in Lytham St Annes and anyone local knows that Lytham St Annes is NOT Blackpool! It's like calling Formby Southport! You'll upset all the posh old dears who bought their retirement properties there!

Dita73 · 30/04/2020 07:55

@JacobReesMogadishu I’m not arguing with you. In fact tata!
