I am from Norway and we have got a british store called iceland food in Oslo. My british friends say that i should try spaggeti hoops because it is so popular in UK. So I did that. I don`t understand how it can be so popular. Do you like spagetti hoops? I just ate it from the box. Maybe I should add something more to it ?

You are them from the tin that you warmed in the microwave - I'm surprised your micro didn't explode Shock

Tenpintonpin · 29/04/2020 19:12

You are correct, OP, spaghetti hoops are disgusting. But while we're talking about 'bad' food, may I raise the subject of brown cheese/brunost? It's, errr, just not right...

opticaldelusion · 29/04/2020 19:12

They're actually our national dish.

Sonichu · 29/04/2020 19:19

Spaghetti hoops are shite.

(And I'm not a MN food snob, tinned ravioli and spaghetti are the mutt's nuts. But spaghetti hoops are SHITE.)

stickerqueen · 29/04/2020 19:24

I loved them on toast with grated cheese when I was a child but I tried them again has a child and they are disgusting don't know how I ever liked them.

to the poster that said something about a missing gene lol, I'm British and missing that same gene.

My kids won't eat them.

WatchoutfortheROUS · 29/04/2020 19:24

Bleurgh, they're grim OP. Even my DC don't like them. Over processed cr!

norwegianWomen · 29/04/2020 19:30

Thanks for answers :) I will give it a new try On toast with cheese. But is it a dinner or a breakfast ?

Oh it’s a dinner or evening food.

Which ever really. Very versatile

blue25 · 29/04/2020 19:33

They’re lovely with fishfingers & chips.

EveryFlightBeginsWithAFall · 29/04/2020 19:34

I like them on toast or as pp says with fish fingers and chips Grin

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 29/04/2020 19:35

Spaghetti hoops got me through two pregnancies. I can barely look at them now, but always have some in the cupboard... The DC love them!

ShowOfHands · 29/04/2020 19:37

What else do they sell in this shop? Have you tried anything else you hadn't had before?

I like spaghetti hoops on granary toast with proper butter, chilli flakes and black pepper. Maybe a poached egg too.

Crunchymum · 29/04/2020 19:40

I don't like branded, prefer Sainsburys own brand. Have them on wholemeal toast with lots of pepper and grated cheese.

Fedupandpoor · 29/04/2020 19:40

Lol! I love listening to foreigners trying to work out how to eat our overprocessed shite Grin

Ex DP is from Greece and couldn't believe how big the frozen food section is in our supermarkets. I think he attempted to eat spaghetti hoops once but gave up as it was more like a soup than pasta.

Crunchymum · 29/04/2020 19:41

For me it's a lunch.

radioband · 29/04/2020 19:42

They're horrible! I liked them as a kid but not anymore.

AldiAisleOfCrap · 29/04/2020 19:44

I love Heinz spaghetti hoops, had them for lunch today. For some reason they taste superior to Heinz spaghetti.

AldiAisleOfCrap · 29/04/2020 19:45

Not a breakfast, lunch with toast or dinner with for example fish fingers and chips.

NewMeNew · 29/04/2020 19:46

YANBU they taste like what I imagine rust would taste like.

heartsonacake · 29/04/2020 19:48

But is it a dinner or a breakfast ?

No, OP, you don’t have them for breakfast. You either have them for lunch or dinner.

lokoho · 29/04/2020 19:49

It's not fine dining - it's nostalgia food.

You have to eat it as a child really.

MegaClutterSlut · 29/04/2020 19:51

I don't like heinz hoops or spaghetti, much prefer supermarkets own version. I have it with toast with lots of butter on

Northernsoullover · 29/04/2020 19:51

Spaghetti hoops are horrible but Heinz tinned spaghetti is heavenly. Must be covered in brown sauce.

norwegianWomen · 29/04/2020 19:56

Yes, They Sell a lot of british food and snacks. The walkers was some of the best thing I ever have tasted. My father bought a full bag of many tastes of different walkers. And it was 18 pack. It was gone in 2 days xD . They also sell some good chocolate from A brand ( cadbury). Is it some products you recommend me to try ?:)

We had spaghetti hoops for lunch yesterday. On hot buttery toast, with strong cheddar grated over. Perfect quick lunch.

OP, your English is great.
