Spagetti hoops...Is terrible

I am from Norway and we have got a british store called iceland food in Oslo. My british friends say that i should try spaggeti hoops because it is so popular in UK. So I did that. I don`t understand how it can be so popular. Do you like spagetti hoops? I just ate it from the box. Maybe I should add something more to it ?

Oh well. There is no law about liking them. I like Hoops or Pasta Shapes (the ones that are of kids telly characters) but I don't like Beans.
I don't like traditional 'Sunday Dinner' either which is supposed to be the ultimate British thing.

For me they have to be heniz, would only eat them on toast. Can't remember the last time we had them actually.

They’re kind of junk kids food. Lots of salt and sugar. I quite like them as a “guilty pleasure” on buttered toast. DH doesn’t like them.

For lots of Brits they have nostalgia value.

I Never speak English , Just Norwegian. I have learned English at school. :) I am sorry. 7 years since last English class .

Spaghetti hoops are bad. Tinned spaghetti and sausages on the other hand, is far preferable

I dont really like them either, they taste far too sweet to me. Give me baked beans any day.
DS prefers them them to beans but would choose veg over either

Don't apologise for your English. I doubt that any poster here could say a word of Norwegian (I include myself in that, although I know a little French German, Greek and Turkish- languages I've needed. I couldn't post on a forum in any of those languages though!)

Your English is good. So are your taste buds! Spaghetti hoops are certainly not the best food the UK has to offer.

Well your English is an awful lot better than most people's Norwegian so don't worry about it not being perfect!

You're also not wrong. They're OK ish I suppose but certainly not something I'd ever choose.

Baked beans are lovely though.

I'm not the biggest fan of spaghetti hoops, I was fed them a lot as a child though so that might be why... much prefer baked beans on toast.

The tomato sauce is really weak in spaghetti hoops and the pasta is just mush to me! My family likes them though and think I'm crazy for disliking them

Love spaghetti hoops! Hot hot hot and on toast, preferably cheap sliced white bread and plenty of butter.

As for Spaghetti Hoops... I made the mistake of buying Strands not Hoops. Apparently they don't taste the same. Alphabetti Spaghetti is acceptable.

They're a godsend for panic dinners for DD when we've lost track of time! She likes the ones with sausages in particularly.

With tomato sauce type products if you boil them they get a metallic taste.

I like them warmed on the hob then poured over buttery toast.

I was given them as a child - until I was old enough to refuse to eat them. Then I discovered real pasta.

Your British friends have no sense of taste - I don't know anyone who eats them.

I find them too sweet, and the spaghetti is soggy, like baby food mush They're okay with hot sauce and cheese!

children like them - they are sweet and slimy, and fit onto a child's finger - which obviously makes them FUN. lol.

Spaghetti hoops are disgusting, my kids hate them, I hate them. The sauce is gloopy, synthetic tasting and disgusting. I can't understand why anyone would choose to eat them over pasta in a proper tomato sauce.
The only thing worse than spaghetti hoops is mini hot dogs in the same disgustingly gloopy tomato sauce. I feel quite sick now....
