I hate any sort of misogyny

You must find Boris Johnson a very difficult character then....

ducksback · 29/04/2020 14:00

You must find Boris Johnson a very difficult character then....

Absolutely.

ducksback · 29/04/2020 14:01

But I would never be such an arsehole as to label his new born baby son as 'illegitimate'. Only a fucking wanker would do that.

cacaca · 29/04/2020 14:02

All you people on here calling the baby ‘illegitimate’ do you think that about friends who have had children outwith marriage? Also about the many posters on here who have children but are not married?

peppermintcapsules · 29/04/2020 14:02

It's a fact, duck, but of course, you're so morally superior to mere mortals, alas Hmm.

lynsey91 · 29/04/2020 14:03

@HalfTermHalfTerm so how exactly is she not his mistress? He was still married when he met her wasn't he? So I believe that makes her a mistress and now the first unmarried mother in No 10. So much to be proud of.

She must be hard up that's all I can say.

ducksback · 29/04/2020 14:04

I repeat peppermint no human being is illegitmate.

Think about what you are saying about a new born baby FGS. It is shameful.

ducksback · 29/04/2020 14:05

Sorry that should have said illegitimate

ajandjjmum · 29/04/2020 14:05

the NHS employees and care workers who caught Covid though lack of adequate PPE - can lay the blame directly at the door of Johnson's government.

It amazes me how the highly paid NHS procurement teams have not come in for any flack over any shortages!

Congratulations Carrie and Boris.

ducksback · 29/04/2020 14:05

lynsey what is the male equivalent of 'mistress'?

Supersimkin2 · 29/04/2020 14:06

Of course I get it - everyone can register the possibility - but, er, how do you know?

Even if it's true, and possible blurry bad intentions lurked in the heart of a poster, and you're telepathic, a slur only comes to life if you choose to allow it. So what if an old skool random tries to mean something bad?

Being offended is subjective a lot of the time; sometimes it just isn't.

Being pointlessly rude is one of the hardest parts of free speech to defend; but a shrill, aggressive struggle to take offence in the face of fact is the most boring.

ducksback · 29/04/2020 14:07

@HalfTermHalfTerm so how exactly is she not his mistress? He was still married when he met her wasn't he? So I believe that makes her a mistress and now the first unmarried mother in No 10. So much to be proud of

Do those who think that the unmarried mother comment was NOT meant as an insult see it now?

peppermintcapsules · 29/04/2020 14:07

It's shameful to you, duck, it's just fact to others. You don't rule the world. I find it shameful to repeatedly cheat on one's spouses and throw them over for OW or OM. We're all entitled to such opinions. But carry on throwing down the moral gauntlet if it makes you feel better.

JediJim · 29/04/2020 14:07

I don’t care about them being married or not. It’s 2020 not 1920 and I’m happy for them.
He has a lot of pressure to cope with, the current situation, Brexit and a new born.

ducksback · 29/04/2020 14:09

It is a shameful thing to label a baby peppermint yes. But you know that already. That's why you did it.

ducksback · 29/04/2020 14:12

All you people on here calling the baby ‘illegitimate’ do you think that about friends who have had children outwith marriage? Also about the many posters on here who have children but are not married?

No they do not think at all it seems to me. Anything goes in the clamour to attack Boris Johnson.

Easilyanxious · 29/04/2020 14:12

He's delaying his paternity leave
And aren't most of his kids from his first marriage ?
We don't know any circumstance around his other child even the papers don't seem to know anything for sure

Humina · 29/04/2020 14:13

The 'procurement teams' line is straight out of the AstroTurfing that hit Facebook and other social media after the Panorama doc. Interesting.

peppermintcapsules · 29/04/2020 14:13

It is a shameful thing to label a baby peppermint yes. But you know that already. That's why you did it.

Ah, I see, you are mind reader as well as the arbiter of all morality and speech. Hmm

ducksback · 29/04/2020 14:14

Well do explain why you would label a new born baby as 'illegitimate' then. Happy to hear it.

peppermintcapsules · 29/04/2020 14:16

He has 4 children by his second marriage, Eas (his second wife was pregnant when they married as he had to have his first marriage annulled to marry the second one). He may have another child from an affair during that second marriage, he won't say how many children he has, and now he has this one.

ducksback · 29/04/2020 14:16

And just to be clear - the shameful aspect is YOU labelling a baby in this way not the fact that this child's parents are not married. That matters not a jot to me - but it clearly annoys you for some reason.

pocketem · 29/04/2020 14:17

The parents aren't married

peppermintcapsules · 29/04/2020 14:18

Because it's a fact, duck, it's a literal term in the English language. You don't like it, but that doesn't make it any less of a fact. That may not be okay with you, but you don't rule the world. I know it's hard to accept.

Pogmella · 29/04/2020 14:18

I’m not particularly bothered that he isn’t married to her, it is at the very least bit crass that he was married to someone else when they started their relationship and later fell pregnant.

Aside from anything else the two of them must be very stressed. An affair, covering a pregnancy up through the leadership bid, his divorce and financial settlement, all the public scrutiny, a national crisis which he has to deal with plus personal sickness and now a newborn.

I do think he’s be best off stepping down and letting someone with a bit more focus take up the reins right now.
