Anyone watching Grease? C4

I have very mixed feelings over this film but it' decent entertainment. DH has never watched it and is suitably 'wtf is this'.

I love it. It’s strange to see it on tv totally uncensored...ITV and BBC always cut loads out.

I don't think DH is concentrating.

Do they normally cut bits out? What do they cut out? Haven't seen it for ages. I considered watching it with my 6 year old but wasn't sure

Channel 4 have had the rights to it for the last few years, it turns up on Film 4 a lot. The BBC used to heavily censor it.

I love it but people of here on here always ruin it for me because why should Sandy change herself for a man. Presumably for the same reason Danny changed himself for her 🤬

Oh cos I looked up why it was a PG to see if my little girl could watch it and it did say about those words and I wasn't sure about her watching it with that. I didn't remember when the words came up. If it's in a song often you can't tell the words I might have watched it with her

Not really. When they met during the the summer, Danny behaved like the wholesome all American boy. Sandy liked him.
She then met him at school and he was totally different. Then she changes to suit his bad boy persona.
Him changing is really just him going back to the person he presented himself as during the summer. Its who he really wants to be if his friends weren't around.
Her change, totally changing who she is for no other reason than she wants him to like her and thinks that's the only way.

Loved it!! DH watched because he knows I love it, but I could feel him cringing a bit. I always cry at the end.

Ahem. As well as the song lyrics there's a lot of chat about contraception and a whole storyline about a suspected teen pregnancy.

I was a teenager when it was released (old) and we were relieved it was a PG! I suspect that was so that all the mad teenage Travolta fans could get in ok. We queued round the block to see it and the soundtrack was the must-have album that summer 😂😂

I saw it at the cinema when it first came out. I was at primary school and we used to re-enact all the songs at break / lunchtime. Poor teachers!

I think a lot of it would go right over many children's heads. I think there was a thread about this a while ago and someone said they'd not realised one of the characters feared pregnancy until they'd seen it 20 times!

Yes I'm not worried about the pregnancy bit with my little girl I mean it's just someone getting pregnant. She won't connect the dots at 6. And no when I was younger I didn't realise till years later it went over my head.

It was more the pussy and shit words I read about which I was surprised was in a PG. I can't remember how obvious those words are in the song

I lole Grease. I streamed it 2 weeks ago! Just cause I wanted to watch it.
But the point you made up thread about her changing being the same as him changing just wasnt correct.
