I’m watching Cats (2019) 😧 and would like more of this sort of horror please!

Goosebumps, no way is that a PG my DD was 10 at the time and had nightmares for weeks and she's not wimpy!

EastBoundAndDown · 19/04/2020 00:08

The Neverending Story when his horse gets stuck in the mud and won't move.... :(

BinkySodPlop · 19/04/2020 00:09

Original Jurassic Park is a PG (possibly the others are, too). It definitely made me jump!

ADreamOfGood · 19/04/2020 00:10

Back to The Future is only PG, but rewatching it as an adult, the rape-attempt is horrible and goes on way too long.

TerrifiedandWorried · 19/04/2020 00:11

Poltergeist is a 15. Miss Peregrine's is a 12a

aWeaponCalledtheWord · 19/04/2020 00:11

as a fully-grown adult, i would like to admit here and now that Spiderwick Chronicles gave me actual nightmares, a fact that now-adult-herself DD delights in reminding me...

birdlady12 · 19/04/2020 00:18

Coraline and monster house

BreasticlesNotTesticles · 19/04/2020 00:24

Hugo the Hippo - family culled in first two minutes

James Bond! Living Daylights, cried all the way through it aged about 7

EarlLeighIndamornin · 19/04/2020 00:33

Not a movie but a cartoon - Willo the Wisp and that fucking weird evil TV Edna Confused

MilkNoSugars · 19/04/2020 00:38

The Watcher In The Woods - the 1980s one with Bette Davis in it.

Saw it at a sleepover as a kid and it's traumatised me ever since- can't believe it's only a PG!

Bookoffacts · 19/04/2020 00:42

The latest Indiana Jones with the zombie glass monsters.

Patterjack · 19/04/2020 00:51

I think from memory that Arachnophobia is a PG..that is by far the worse, scariest film I've ever watched. I remember watching horror films as a teenager but this is the one that freaked me out the most. Only watched it once in my whole nearly 40 years, just thinking about it gives me the shivers.

Easilyanxious · 19/04/2020 01:12

Agree with watership down yet as a kid I loved it and it's only after watching as an adult I think a u certificate Is surprising

Easilyanxious · 19/04/2020 01:15

Caroline I found bit strange for kids film took my dd when he was little and he found it a bit scary

AbsolomChautney · 19/04/2020 01:19

Narnia is pretty intense.

SpoonBlender · 19/04/2020 01:41

@CCaK This isn't the real original Cats-with-arseholes, but some nutjobs put the arseholes on afterwards for larks. It's amazingly unpleasant.

Scardot · 19/04/2020 01:43

Coraline
The witches
Indiana Jones and the temple of doom
Signs!!!

MrsMop1964 · 19/04/2020 01:47

Coraline really upset my daughter- to the point where she asked me to throw the DVD away and anxiously watched me put it in the bin. (I do think looking back that it might have been because I'm her only family and she related it to something bad possibly happening to me)

RubaiyatOfAnyone · 19/04/2020 05:00

Yy to all the above, although i have fond memories of being scared by many of them (particularly the wheelers in Return to Oz and the Black Cauldron).

I would add two slightly obscure ones that properly traumatised me as a teenager - Little Monsters (about a boy who discovers an awful world of monsters under his bed), and Nothing But Trouble (a “horror comedy” about some yuppies who get hauled before a surreal horrible small town judge who basically threatens to execute them horribly). Both awful, and exacerbated by the fact that no one else ever seems to have seen them.

covetingthepreciousthings · 19/04/2020 07:19

If you were looking at weird and horrible kids tv programmes, Round the Twist is one lol.

My DH a few months back was telling my mum he always found the episode where the kids willy turned into some kind of propeller very weird, and we didn't believe him.. but low and behold that was actually an episode!! I always used to love that show, but didn't remember that.

joystir59 · 19/04/2020 07:22

Ted 1 and Ted 2. So crude and disgusting for children to watch. Some film directors are very warped.

TerrifiedandWorried · 19/04/2020 07:26

@Joystir59 Are you joking?

joystir59 · 19/04/2020 07:29

No why? I genuinely can't stand the Ted chsracter

Sparrowlegs248 · 19/04/2020 07:30

Watership down. Wtaf. It was on at Easter a couple of years ago too.

Ted is not a PG though @joystir59 both are 15. I agree though, I couldn't sit through it.

milienhaus · 19/04/2020 07:31

Joystir59 the Ted movies are a 15 and 100% are not intended for children.
