If you walked 8 miles would you be knackered?

I am a usual 3 mile a day person (with the dogs). Decided to go a bit further today as bored and then got lost (live in the middle of nowhere before anyone tells me off and have literally seen not one other person except a man In the far distance on a bike). Been out for about 3 hours in the end and my tracker says I've walked 8.5 miles. I'm bloody exhausted. Does that suggest I am very unfit? I thought I was fairly healthy but clearly not.
In my defence I do have a bit of arthritis controlled by meds and I didn't have a drink or anything With me so probably a touch dehydrated as well.

That sounds about how I would feel Murray

8 miles on the flat, with water and proper trainers - no issues, though my hip is usually giving me a bit of irritation by the end of that.

8 miles unexpectedly, with no water and the wrong shoes - I would definitely be feeling it when I got home but fine the next day.

I would usually view myself as a reasonably fit person though I can see lots of people have different definitions of that from this thread! I can swim 5 kilometres and I cycle or walk most places when anywhere is open.

Katinski yes I’ve also noticed how easily I seem to be able to walk 5 or 6 miles round the city centre on shopping trips 🤔.

Don't worry about it, everyone has good and bad days. Sometimes, you'll feel knackered just sitting around most of the day and sometimes, you'll feel energetic even after a 10 mile bike ride. Things like hormones, health, hydration, diet, emotional stress, injury all play a part to how you feel each day.
