I have now devoted a day of my life to read about BF. Most interesting stuff I have come across since we are in lock down.

NanTheWiser · 25/04/2020 22:14

A black cat you say? A familiar? You'll have to call him Pyewacket, as called in the film Bell, Book and Candle with Kim Novak (although he was a seal point Siamese).

@TheMotherofAllDilemmas I agree, it's one of the most entertaining threads in a long time. I might have to go and have a look at the classic threads while we're all in Lockdown as well. The one about the little Korean grandma had me in stitches. (It's a lovely, lovely thread.)

Please do keep us updated whenever your son has more to say about BirdieFriend. Very keen to keep up! I hope the sister gets made soon.

How’s it hanging over there are at B F Towers ?

BirdieFriendReturns · 20/05/2020 22:37

DS was playing Jenga with DH today. And BF.

DS decided he wanted to make Stonehenge as BF was there when they made it but apparently “the lines aren’t right mummy.”

Morning!
We're in married quarters, too. The only time we've ever had any issues was before we had children, when we had the spirit of a little boy who drew all over the house, in what looked like crayon. It was a bugger to remove (the crayon, not the boy, we quite liked him).
We moved away and didn't 'see' him or his art again. Then when DS was about two, he started talking about the little boy in his bedroom and how he wouldn't come downstairs. Obviously can't prove it but I'd like to think it was the same boy.
Not sure I'd have coped with a birdie friend though!

Anywaythewindisblowing · 21/05/2020 09:47

@AhCheeses that's fascinating! What did the little boy draw? I wonder why he disappeared when you had your own children?

AhCheeses · 21/05/2020 10:01

@Anywaythewindisblowing, we didn't see his work again from the day we left that house. It was about three years after that when DS was two that he started mentioning 'the boy', assuming it was the same boy.
I was told by someone that he was drawing flowers for me and was drawn (excuse the pun!) to me after a miscarriage and to tell him to draw them on paper instead of the walls and floor but it made no difference! We'd still find coloured marks all over the ground floor walls and kitchen floor. They were quite detailed, like, 1cm red then 1cm yellow, then red then yellow and so on. Marks that DH and I couldn't possibly have made, and in weird places like the edge of the bannister or inside a cupboard door. They made me smile if I'm honest.
I actually miss him!

Anywaythewindisblowing · 23/05/2020 20:37

@AhCheeses oh sorry yes you said that you moved away in your first post, apologies! V. Sleep deprived!
It sounds like he was genuinely trying to comfort you and you picked up on it. It's a lovely story x so sorry for your miscarriage xxx

I watched 'The Shining' on iPlayer the other day and thought of Birdie Friend. "Red rum, Red rum!"

FrancoBranco · 28/07/2020 12:01

I miss Birdie Friend. I often find myself thinking 'what middle class foodstuff is Birdie Friend eating today?' And 'i bet Birdie Friend would like a taste of this granita' Sad

Has anything else weird happened @BirdieFriendReturns ? Do you still have your new black cat?
