Anyone actually had their Homebase delivery?

Ordered 19 days ago, saying 5 days. Understand it’s going to take a long time so only just started to look to chase it. The email address on the website bounces back as undeliverable. Anyone else know what their lead time is/did you get your order?

Got mine recently. Took about 2 weeks.

Annoyingly it said the delivery company would get in touch with a date but they didn't so we didn't actually know when it was going to arrive.

piefacedClique · 17/04/2020 10:39

Nope!

piefacedClique · 17/04/2020 10:40

14 days and still waiting! The longest spell of dry weather we’ve had in ages so planned to do the fences and now it’s fucking raining 😭😭😭😭

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 17/04/2020 10:40

No sign of ours yet. It's been about ten days.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 17/04/2020 10:41

Actually - I'm wrong. 8 days. The order said up to ten days.

shwirurbsha · 17/04/2020 10:47

Ordered 4 items 25 days ago. One item turned up within a couple of weeks. The 2 tins of paint I ordered had an update to say it would arrive by the 11th, it didn't. Then had an email two days ago to say they could no longer fulfil the order and they had cancelled it. The last item arrived yesterday with zero warning when they said I'd get a message 24 hours before.
I've emailed and messaged on fb and nothing has been answered. Totally understand it's a difficult time and I wouldn't be so annoyed if I wasn't getting emails every day from them advertising more stuff!!

AmIAStone · 17/04/2020 10:56

I would completely understand if when I ordered it said “3weeks” or had an email saying it’s arriving in June, that’s understandable. But the email address they’ve given is bouncing back. I just need to know if I am getting it in a week or can cancel my order. The local hardware store has reopened for deliveries and I would much rather use them and support them.

Totally understand OP thats was how I felt too. Just wanted to know what was happening. I didn't get the paint from elsewhere as I had ordered from there and by the time they cancelled (3 weeks later) everywhere else had sold out. I also had orders from wickes and Argos and neither of them have had any issues like this.

Frlrlrubert · 17/04/2020 11:06

I ordered on the 6th (because they literally sent me an email advertising their sale). At the time it said two items would be delivered within 7 days and one within 7 days but with the caveat that they would contact me first. One of the former was delivered on the 10th, the latter on the 15th (with no notice). Still waiting on the other.

spongedog · 17/04/2020 11:22

No, nearly 3 weeks now.

Like others i ordered in stock items that were to be delivered within3 days, with a text message regarding delivery. I have had 1 item delivered direct from supplier (sensible).

The main item I ordered is now out of stock. No replies at all to any queries I make on social media or by email.

I was expecting delays but not this level of chaos. What has made me really cross is that IT web developers can work from home fairly easily so why on earth has the website not been updated with better estimates of delivery.

I was also under the impression that my order was coming from the local shop. I dont think that is true now. Also I have paid a delivery charge despite being well over minimum order levels.

MadauntofA · 17/04/2020 11:29

Arrived today - 3wks after ordering with no email contact until last night. One paint tin now out of stock so refunded

AmIAStone · 17/04/2020 11:39

Yes all my stuff was in stock and I assumed it would take a while but not this long. Other shops have disclaimers saying if it’s available to be added to the basket it’s in stock, it will just take them a longtime to get it out to you but it is coming. And they send you updated if it’s delayed.

Pre-emptively sending emails saying it’s delayed means you get understanding customers and no emails to reply to. Win win

Waiting for compost here.

I did get the email to say deliveries are taking longer than normal but I had no idea that would mean the best part of 3 weeks, which is what it looks like going by the posts on this thread.

Thanks for this thread because I was going to order some plants but now it looks like I'd best wait for the compost to actually turn up to make sure the larger ones with the exposed roots don't die.

handslikecowstits · 17/04/2020 12:31

I'm waiting for a mini greenhouse. Said 7-10 days wait on the confirmation email but I suspect I'm going to be waiting a lot longer than that.

Feenie · 17/04/2020 12:33

4 weeks - still waiting!

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 17/04/2020 12:37

They are crap. We ordered everything we needed to decorate the living room and was told it would arrive by 1st April. Part of it arrived before that with no indication of when the rest would be here. DH emailed to cancel the rest of the order, but in the meantime another delivery arrived. We are still part of it missing but they are insisting they've shipped it all.

Ifeel1000yearsold · 17/04/2020 12:37

Ordered paint 3 weeks ago. Said 5 days. Couple of e mails to say sorry for the delay. Then yesterday they decided they could no longer fulfil the order.

Sennetti · 17/04/2020 12:38

Homebase are on their way out

Be cautious

Frlrlrubert · 17/04/2020 12:39

I know it's abnormal times and all, but I do suspect some companies are selling things they don't have - it's really not on. We're waiting on a mower from Argos that we ordered just after lockdown when it was all a bit unclear - they've taken the money and the website says undeliverables will be refunded, but the order still says 'processing'. The other item was delivered as expected, the driver said the mower should have been in the van but wasn't.

youvegottobekidding · 17/04/2020 13:10

Ordered about 6 items (including 3 tubs of paint) on 6th April, so not that long ago, however after hearing someone had placed an order at the end of March & wasn’t going to get delivered until mid May, we have tried to cancel our order, by email, phone & Instagram. Lots of emails, the one in the website doesn’t work - it’s this one you need - [email protected]
And lots of phone calls (before they cut them out yesterday) and Instagram messages. I got one email back yesterday to say they will take between 7-14 days to just reply to my email.

They took our money out on the 7th April. I get this is a difficult time. I can appreciate that. But taking the funds from our account while having no idea when we will receive the goods is just not on.

So no we aren’t any the wiser, don’t know if our order is going to be cancelled or delivered this year or what. DH has been onto the bank to see if we can get our money back as we paid by credit card. Seems like the only option left seeing as we have no response from Homebase.

Destroyer · 17/04/2020 13:12

No I haven’. And the order was done without marking an account, so I can’t go on and cancel. The money has been taken though Angry

pussycatinboots · 17/04/2020 13:21

Frlrl Argos are no longer accepting returns. They've extended their refund period to 60 days, but you can't send anything back if you've had it delivered, or even return to store if it's open
Homebase have always been crap with deliveries (bathroom taps 6 yrs ago)

WobblyAllOver · 17/04/2020 13:31

Not being able to track the order online is pretty poor compared to most companies which means I won't be using them again.

TheTiaraManager · 17/04/2020 13:32

My order was placed March 30th stating items in stock & would be delivered in 10 days. Email then received this week stating items will be with me on approximately April 30th.

It's annoying as had I known it would be delayed by so much I wouldn't have placed the order. I think they've looked at potential profits & wanted to fulfil the orders but not had the logistics to follow through

Totally agree.
