Has anyone seen it? (You'll know if you have!)

As a professional marketeer, I can only assume that their marketing team are on meth.

I dont even have the fucking words...

(Apologies if there's already a thread)

the worst bit is her wandering accent.

SpokeTooSoon · 14/04/2020 22:09

It’s laugh out loud awful! Just so needlessly crude. Can you imagine as a teenager watching that with your dad?

SpokeTooSoon · 14/04/2020 22:11

It’s also the sort of thing that (at my school anyway) would have been shouted across classrooms!

mumpymo · 14/04/2020 22:12

Erm Hmm it's informative but quite tacky? ConfusedDon't understand why they are still churning out plastic applicators when they used to be cardboard which is a bit more environmentally friendly. I use a cup now anyway Grin

TooManyTigers · 14/04/2020 22:14

That’s actually hilarious 😂

TaTuirseOrm · 14/04/2020 22:15

It's just come on now while reading this, OMG it's horrendous!! Who thought that was a good idea???? Although we're talking about it, so I guess it's working!

boatyardblues · 14/04/2020 22:22

I don’t watch terrestrial TV with ads these days and had no idea that ads had become so crass and laddish. Makes you hanker after the good old days when a pretty lady fellated a Flake in her bathtub - at least the smut was implied rather than rubbed in your face.

TheReluctantCountess · 14/04/2020 22:26

Teenage boys will love copying the hand gestures and taunting girls when they think they have their period.

Wordofwarning · 14/04/2020 22:27

@boatyardblues very true. Or the freaky milk tray man 😂😂😂

boatyardblues · 14/04/2020 22:29

Or the freaky milk tray man

Aka a stalker, in modern parlance. Wink

Leflic · 14/04/2020 22:35

No young girl is going to buy those now surely. You’d be thinking everyone mentally going “ get it up there” yuck.
The selling point of tampons is that they are discrete.
But not if you’re buying these horrors. (

hannabarbera · 14/04/2020 22:36

Saw it earlier. Fucking crass.

YippeeKayakOtherBuckets · 14/04/2020 22:38

I saw it earlier and genuinely thought the ‘guest’ was Jazz Jennings and thought fuck me that’s going a bit far.

The whole thing is baffling.

Sux2buthen · 14/04/2020 22:51

I like it. And the advice is sound.

Ltdannygreen · 14/04/2020 22:52

I saw it 3 times today, it actually made me cringe, I’m not bothered by many things but this just took the biscuit 😩

Brahumbug · 15/04/2020 09:15

I thought it was both hilarious and naff beyond words, who ever wrote it was clearly taking some serious drugs.Grin.
Given that everyone is talking about it, they will be pleased with the result.

Pinkblueberry · 15/04/2020 09:23

Christ. Its like the the advertising equivalent of mansplaining - it's not our mediocre product, it's you^^r fault!

This x100. I guess sales were low because women found them uncomfortable. If you need to create an eyebrow raising advert like that to explain how to use your product then maybe your product design needs looking at (most women know how to insert a fucking tampon - if it’s tricky for women to do then you’ve clearly designed it incorrectly Hmm)

Soubriquet · 15/04/2020 10:13

What the fuck!?

“Not just the tip, up to the grip”

A man wrote that. 100%.

How many poor women are going to hear this from men..

And teenaged girls from childish boys Hmm

SarahTancredi · 15/04/2020 10:29
Shock

Dreadful.

Whatever happens to facts and a reason the product is better?

I hate Tampax though they are u comfortable and I know some people need the plastic applicator but the waste is still shocking

I much prefer lilets non applicator

It's an embarrassing advert no need for it

WorkingItOutAsIGo · 15/04/2020 10:29

I actually loved it! Normalising. Straightforward. Helpful.

Wannabangbang · 15/04/2020 10:32

I actually think it's great, makes it straightforward. I'm 36 and I've struggled for years with making them comfortable, wasn't pushing them up further enough it seems. Finally wearing them comfortably which is great as no sanitary towels in stock anyway here at the moment so a godsend

WotnoPasta · 15/04/2020 10:33

Fucking hell.....

If I was able to shove something up there without it being painful I would be using a moon cup.

Faez · 15/04/2020 10:43

Are that many people unaware of how to correctly insert a tampon that they needed to make an ad about it. Or did they just know it would get attention

Wannabangbang · 15/04/2020 10:48

If it helps one person why not. It's about time things were normalised instead of talked about on the hush.

SarahTancredi · 15/04/2020 10:50

But they didnt help anyone.

Get it up there food mean anything.

How about explaining how they work (they expand downwards so need to be inserted higher than you might think) and heres how the applicator works...

Advert didn't explain a thing.
