Are not paying their way?

RhymingRabbit3 · 12/04/2020 18:56

Surely your mum will pay you back for her part of the shopping?

Maybe they've been living off meagre rations recently and want to splash out now that they're able to?

Ihatemyseleffordoingthis · 12/04/2020 18:57

Just ask them to transfer the £ before you go and you will refund the difference
Veg soya and lentils are not £££ though

Ihatemyseleffordoingthis · 12/04/2020 18:58

I'd also warn them that lots of the fish counters in supermarkets are closed. Frozen fish might be possible though.

gamerchick · 12/04/2020 18:59

Ask for the money first.

Soubriquet · 12/04/2020 18:59

And you paid for it?

Hmm

More fool you

Apolloanddaphne · 12/04/2020 19:00

Our fish counter is now closed as are most I think. It will be pre-packed or frozen if she wants fish.

mogloveseggs · 12/04/2020 19:00

Yikes!

JigsawsAreInPieces · 12/04/2020 19:00

I trust that the wine merchant will supply the Sommelier to ensure a good match with the food? Wink

Get her fish fingers and baked beans like everyone else has. Grin

Windyatthebeach · 12/04/2020 19:03

Is your dm called Lizzy??

UhKevin · 12/04/2020 19:06

Windy what’s the connection?

WoollyMollyMonkey · 12/04/2020 19:13

Get frozen from iceland.

Windyatthebeach · 12/04/2020 19:17

As in is the op Princess Anne??

PickAChew · 12/04/2020 19:17

They have high hopes, don't they?

My lists are more like "whatever they've sodding got that I can make a decent meal with"

HollowTalk · 12/04/2020 19:22

Those things aren't that expensive, tbh. Everything except for crab can be found in Asda (and maybe crab, too, for all I know) for under a fiver.

handbagsatdawn33 · 12/04/2020 19:24

£500 ???

So what are you buying for yourself that's over £400?

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 12/04/2020 19:26

Is your dm called Lizzy??

I'm guessing Queen? Of the HRH variety not the Freddie Mercury .

Thripp · 12/04/2020 19:28

Crab. I want crab. In fact, any of those fishy things on your list, OP.

Jeansntees · 12/04/2020 19:29

I can relate. We got some bits in for family and were shocked at what other people consider to be essential, and the prices. However we did get reimbursed so no problem.

ViciousJackdaw · 12/04/2020 19:32

Is this some sort of stealth boast? Oh, look at me, I've got £500 to spunk on a weeks shopping for me and someone else! Can't see any other reason for it, a well-adjusted person would simply ask for the money upfront if it was a problem.

Nanalisa60 · 12/04/2020 19:32

The fish mongers shops are open in the city I live in, just the same as the butcher’s.

P1nkHeartLovesCake · 12/04/2020 19:32

How will that be £500...... yes they are expensive items but not £500 worth

Also your mother is an adult she should be paying for her own food

custodiandiscount · 12/04/2020 19:32

just get them some fish fingers, they might like a change

FTMF30 · 12/04/2020 19:33

How long is uour shopping meant to last?

MilkTrayLimeBarrel · 12/04/2020 19:35

Good for them - enjoy nice food at this time! Someone always has to complain!
