Prawns
Sea bass
Salmon
All sorts of vegetables, herbs
Soya beans lentils

Surely your mum will pay you back for her part of the shopping?

Maybe they've been living off meagre rations recently and want to splash out now that they're able to?

Just ask them to transfer the £ before you go and you will refund the difference

I'd also warn them that lots of the fish counters in supermarkets are closed. Frozen fish might be possible though.

Those things aren't that expensive, tbh. Everything except for crab can be found in Asda (and maybe crab, too, for all I know) for under a fiver.

I can relate. We got some bits in for family and were shocked at what other people consider to be essential, and the prices. However we did get reimbursed so no problem.

Is this some sort of stealth boast? Oh, look at me, I've got £500 to spunk on a weeks shopping for me and someone else! Can't see any other reason for it, a well-adjusted person would simply ask for the money upfront if it was a problem.

The fish mongers shops are open in the city I live in, just the same as the butcher’s.
