@TerfTerfTerf yes we’ve never made it before but my god it’s delicious. We did ours with a tin of chickpeas and olive oil. I’ve been having it with everything, and no need to worry about the garlic breath in isolation Grin.

I'm roasting a leg right now it smells amazing!

Slow braised lamb shanks. Will be served with colcannon mash. Scrumptious.

Veg prepped off out for a walk round the block for a bit of exercise and to clear the head
Lamb has been turned over in its wine soaked bath
Smells delicious

I've got a leg of lamb roasting, Jamie Oliver method, lamb straight on oven rack, roasting tin underneath to catch the fat in and to roast new potatoes and parsnips and carrots. Genius.

Horsemad · 12/04/2020 16:32

👍 That's the one we're doing @user3274826.

@TerfTerfTerf Thanks for your reasoned and well thought out reply! Makes a change on here, it would seem.

I think the part you wrote about The Game Changers being focussed on athletes is true. There’s no doubt they have access to the very best nutritionists and technology - that alllows a vegan diet to be both easier for them to adopt, alongside being beneficial. I think that there’s no arguing that point.

However, where you talk about native countrymen and women going without, due to veg and fruit being flown from faraway lands; you’re way out on this point I’m afraid. The majority of deforestation and land devastation, lowering the quality of life - and causing food / resource shortages for locals is from animal agriculture; animals being raised to be consumed by humans; the crops that are then, as part of the chain, needed to feed and water the animals is many fold that of the same land mass / use as a ratio. The UN has whole reports on this very phenom.

In any case; have a great Easter Sunday Smile

TerfTerfTerf · 12/04/2020 16:49

We've eaten!
Bloody delicious, meltingly soft lamb, crispy potatoes and fluffy Yorkies. Off for a lie down.
Happy Easter everyone 🐰

hobnobsaremyfavourite · 12/04/2020 16:55

Roasties look good @TerfTerfTerf

PigletJohn · 12/04/2020 17:02

leg of lamb resting on a bed of onions and chopped roots, half a bottle of Primitovo that had been opened and left lying around, still cooking slow, smells great, lid on now. Garlic in the garden is not showing yet, so none in it.

I thought of doing a Clafoutis but I think that would be too much. Some sort of fruit and cream, I think.

hobnobsaremyfavourite · 12/04/2020 17:39

Nearly time to get the meat out

Well. I am astounded, ours was fab! The DH done good!!! Grin
No photo sadly, we just piled in and ate it but it was gorgeous.

I am stuffed now, just time for a G&T and that's me for today 🙂

MrsCastiel · 12/04/2020 20:05

My beef was slightly overcooked but otherwise the veggies and Yorkshires and cauliflower cheese were delish!

Apologies for the abomination that is stuffing on my plate. DD is obsessed with it so I made her some, then there was lots left over and I didn't want it going to waste!
