Roast leg of lamb here, might look up how to slow roast it as always find it has a lot of waste that we can’t get off so cooking till it’s falling off seems like a good plan. Having ours with cauliflower cheese, carrots, green beans, sprouts, apple&cranberry stuffing and some dripping Yorkshire’s, can’t bloody wait!

Habibtihayati · 11/04/2020 20:37

Slow cooked with figs and pomegranate, served with saffron, almond and barberry rice, yoghurt and cucumber salad, bread and pickles.

bengalcat · 11/04/2020 20:38

travailtotravel · 11/04/2020 20:51

Rubbing with bharat, slow roasting and then having with giant cous cous and roasted veg. The middle eastern theme ...

OuterMongolia · 11/04/2020 20:53

Roast leg of lamb here.

LDN1 · 11/04/2020 20:53

Doubt this is the thread for you grin

Watch The Game Changers on Netflix. Perfect lock-down viewing it's a complete and utter crock of shit and you have been brainwashed by very talented but powerful people with financial skin in the vegan game.

Follow the money.

We won't be eating lamb but that's because i have a really tasty joint of one of our own lambs in the freezer that we will share with family when we can see them again.

Haha; ah! You’re one of ‘those’. It’s not a crock of shit in the slightest... I’ve studied diets as well as agriculture for many years and had already come to the correct conclusion. The Game Changers is merely a sensationalist, albeit, true account of our physiology and also outlines, briefly, the impact of animal agriculture on our planet.

The UN and many independent studies agree; a plant based (or biased) diet is beneficial to the future of the planet - and health wise; (balanced) vegan diets are the key to longer life expectancy as well as reducing the risk of many an ailment.

So crock of shit it ain’t Smile

We've got a leg of lamb, will marinate with garlic and rosemary and slow cook on the BBQ.

Ninkanink · 11/04/2020 20:57

Yaaaaawn.

Pipandmum · 11/04/2020 21:00

Leg of lamb studded with garlic and rosemary. Mini potatoes roasted after tossing in olive oil, sea salt and garlic cloves, veg will be frozen peas and sweetcorn. Yorkshire puddings. Red currant jelly and mint sauce. We had apple crumble with cream or custard for dessert, but could only find individual portions (I'm not a cook) and my son just ate one!

JimandWilson · 11/04/2020 21:09

Leg is marinating overnight in a herby / smoky sauce ready for bbq. We have some plain chops for fussy kids.

Serving with roasted baby potatoes, huge feta salad and roasted veg. Can't wait.

BearSoFair · 11/04/2020 21:16

We're trying chops with fennel and black pepper coating, new potatoes and undecided veg. New recipe so we'll see how it turns out!

hobnobsaremyfavourite · 11/04/2020 21:48

Oh fucking
Yawn
Piss off and start you're own thread
And people wonder why vegans have an image problem
I will enjoy every last mouthful of my juicy tasty lamb dinner

Hirsutefirs · 11/04/2020 22:01

Two and a half hours, gas mark four and a bit.

BuzzShitbagBobbly · 11/04/2020 22:22

Blimey.

Two people who don't eat meat still manage to click on this thread. Was the title too unclear for you?

dyscalculicgal96 · 11/04/2020 22:26

I do not eat any meat on Sundays. So for Sunday dinner tomorrow I will serve my own vegetarian meal instead. Happy Sunday everyone!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 11/04/2020 22:32

We have a leg of lamb. I fancy slow roasting it after reading the thread.

Had a slight oops about mint sauce, but found a bottle of white vinegar at the back of the cleaning shelf and I have a bit of mint trying to grow in the lawn, so minty crisis over.

I think pudding might be the christmas pud that we didn't eat at Christmas.

LDN1 · 11/04/2020 22:45

hobnobsaremyfave - you seem a little upset! Maybe more than a little. In any case; enjoy your dinner! Smile

Bunnyjo · 12/04/2020 00:25

I'm doing Tom Kerridge's slow cooked lamb shoulder with boulangere.

I've cooked it quite a few times and it's bloody delicious. It works best with lamb shoulder, but is great with lamb leg as well.

I'm serving it with homemade mint sauce, green beans, peas and roasted chantenay carrots.

@LDN1

and health wise; (balanced) vegan diets are the key to longer life expectancy as well as reducing the risk of many an ailment

I'd rather eat good meat once a week, including lamb, and die in my 80s than go without meat at all, or butter, or cheese, or cream, or rare roast beef, or bacon butties.....
My dsis was an avid vegan from teen years, for the reasons you're quoting. She had a stroke and died aged 44.

Anecdotal evidence is just that. Major studies all conclude that meat and dairy can increase the risk of different types of cancer as well as heart disease and more. And the world cannot sustain meat production in the future; the curve that we are on. Whilst plant based diets grow in popularity; the emerging 3rd world economies / combined with birth rates mean demand for meat is ever increasing. Plant based (or biased) diets are also advised from this angle, from the like of the UN et al. As well; in amongst this virus pandemic; Covid-19, like Swine flu and Bird Flue, SARS and the rest before it - would not have occurred in a vegan world. It's been mentioned by a few observers as something that will be considered in future; regard agriculture.

In any case; enjoy your meal and best wishes to you and yours on this Easter weekend!

violetbunny · 12/04/2020 06:00

Just put a leg of lamb, studded with garlic and rosemary, on the Weber BBQ (we are in the Southern Hemisphere). Having it with dauphinois potatoes, broccolini, peas and gravy 😀

Cordial11 · 12/04/2020 06:12

Horsemad · 12/04/2020 07:57

We're having leg of lamb and DH is doing a Jamie Oliver recipe. As DH rarely cooks, I'm interested to see how this turns out.
