Spot on!

OP posts:
Apolloanddaphne · 05/04/2020 20:07

She spoke well and with the wisdom of someone who has seen a lot in her time. I know she isn't well liked on MN but I thought it was a good address to the nation.

anyoneforbingo · 05/04/2020 20:08

I bloody love our Queen

JoeExotic · 05/04/2020 20:08

It was as good as it could be

InglouriousBasterd · 05/04/2020 20:08

I thought it was lovely

Popfan · 05/04/2020 20:08

I thought it was a lovely message.

ProseccoSupernova · 05/04/2020 20:09

I actually found it quite emotional which is not like me at all! It was the “We’ll meet again” that got me! Confused

daisypond · 05/04/2020 20:09

I wasn’t impressed. To be fair, I don’t know what else she could have said, but it was very bland.

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 05/04/2020 20:10

I too found it very moving (all the way from Canada)

twinkle2306 · 05/04/2020 20:10

I think it was measured and a good response to the current crisis. As above she spoke with wisdom and clarity

user47000000000 · 05/04/2020 20:10

Also found it very moving, esp “we will meet again” ❤️

sunshineandshowers21 · 05/04/2020 20:11

@ProseccoSupernova me too. i bloody cried! i’m blaming the pregnant hormones. i’m not a big fan of the royal family but i thought it was a nice message.

lemontreee · 05/04/2020 20:12

Very emotional , what a wonderful speech

daisypond · 05/04/2020 20:12

I didn’t like the we’ll meet again stuff. I thought that was some of the weaker stuff - many people will not meet again. I thought that was brushing off the seriousness of it all.

LimescaleCowboy · 05/04/2020 20:12

I doubt she wrote in the modern tropes.

Glad she's looking well, though.

Schmoana · 05/04/2020 20:13

Fantastic, love her👍

middleager · 05/04/2020 20:13

She had me at 'we will meet again."

I'd been dismissive earlier, but am now in bed poorly sobbing for DM who lives 120 miles away. I've not seen her in so long.

namechangedyetagain · 05/04/2020 20:14

I watched it, was ok until I walked in to the kitchen and we'll meet again was playing on r2. Had that at my grandads funeral last year and now I'm in bitsSad

refusetobeasheep · 05/04/2020 20:14

I'm glad she did it

bettythedevilyouknow · 05/04/2020 20:14

I've got the Vera Lynn song in my head now

alislim · 05/04/2020 20:14

Legend!

LavenderQuartz · 05/04/2020 20:15

i wonder if that song will now be updated and popular again!

sociallydistained · 05/04/2020 20:15

Crying! No surprise there

mooboy · 05/04/2020 20:16

Meh - made no difference to me - but cleary did to some...it a weird thing to pay someone to do a job and then be very grateful they do just that.

Matildathehun77 · 05/04/2020 20:16

I like the queen, feel bizarrely a bit better now she's told us that it's all going to be ok Grin

BalloonSlayer · 05/04/2020 20:16

I liked her analogy of children being evacuated.
