Iv removed myself off this thread now.

Hope all you selfish people enjoy your shopping delivery!

And lets hope none of you become vulnerable !!!!

OxanaVorontsova · 03/04/2020 22:03

I had a choice of slots over a full week for a couple of hours this afternoon, so I don't think I'm stealing it from anyone Hmm I would rather get a delivery than put myself and supermarket workers at risk, given that I'm still at work in a school.

I don't understand how anyone is selfish for being able to get a food delivery slot. Am I missing something here? I feel desperately sorry for those with difficulties and if there is something I can do to help anyone, I will but if I'm fortunate enough to have food delivered should I beat myself up about it because others are less fortunate? It doesn't make sense.

I don't go out, haven't been out of the house for weeks but I keep in touch with people and know that people are helping each other as much as they can, including giving them food and toilet rolls. Some who do go out for an essential shop will pick things up and go to a pharmacy for medication for somebody else. They will also order things online to be delivered to another person.

Not everyone who is able to buy goods is a selfish person. I've never heard the like. I can't imagine that me starving would help anyone else, so I don't. However, like most, I've had difficulty in obtaining things over the weeks.

I am trying again tonight then I think I give up - like I said earlier last night myself and my mum got into the website within seconds of each other, she could book a slot and all time lots were free, yet I couldn't and all time slots unavailable so it seems they are doing "something" that allows some people to bar slots but not others.

My parents don't fall into any vulnerable categories so I am not sure what is causing it!!

YgritteSnow · 03/04/2020 23:31

@PinkSpring try at random times during the day. I got a slot late this afternoon. Three slots one after the other. They were all gone after I checked out though.

PinkSpring · 03/04/2020 23:37

I have been checking at least several times during the day, only once have spotted slots but they were for the next day and we didn't need them that soon! I swear it's like I am being blocked from booking somehow!!

Peppafrig · 03/04/2020 23:37

Yeah everyone is going on at midnight try every half hour during the day to get a cancellation .

Peppafrig · 03/04/2020 23:38

Most people are getting slots cause they are gone a split second between you and your mum could have been the difference it's nothing personal .

PinkSpring · 03/04/2020 23:54

Do you leave the site to self refresh or actually refresh it - not sure it makes any difference

TheFairyCaravan · 04/04/2020 00:12

I've just got one for the 24th. I had the app open on my phone and the website open on my iPad. The app got in the fastest.

I've already got one booked for next week and have had on today and all the weeks previously as per usuals. I'm disabled but not vulnerable, going to the shop is tricky, it's painful and DH is rubbish. I've used Tesco online since the start and have a delivery pass, if me continuing to use it makes me selfish then so be it. There's so many of us who have valid reasons to shop on line which is why we've always done so.

PinkSpring · 04/04/2020 00:14

I got one for the 24th! Hurrah

PinkSpring · 04/04/2020 00:16

And no, I don't feel guilty for booking a slot, they are open for all and like others have said, everyone has their reasons for needing slots

Redglitter · 04/04/2020 00:19

Let it refresh itself.

I've been logging in around 2345 or so get kicked into the queue about 2350 and then get on the site just after midnight.

Cant believe how stressful this is. I felt physically sick waiting to get in.

leghairdontcare · 04/04/2020 00:20

So I got a click and collect slot, got an email confirmation but it's not showing on my orders. Schrodinger's slot.

73kittycat73 · 04/04/2020 00:21

I got a slot for the 24th! Grin I was on since 11.38, went to waiting in a queue at 11.51ish. Just got through now. Saw about two slots left so just clicked and grabbed it! Good luck everyone else. Smile

Zacsmum25 · 04/04/2020 00:39

Thank you so much for this thread. It’s meant I could get a slot for my 85 year old Mum who is 400 miles away. Also one for me. I’m a keyworker, exposed to risk every day, so prefer not to take that risk to the supermarket, or expose myself further, not to mention not having the time.

73kittycat73 · 04/04/2020 01:29

Zacsmum25 Thank you for what you do Flowers
