@DoIHaveToAdultToday can u read I corrected above my post saying that it should have said are there to serve the vulnerable so jog on love.

DoIHaveToAdultToday · 03/04/2020 02:57

@Peppafrig

Yes, those that can make it to the store...

Not people who get shopping delivered for convenience

Peppafrig · 03/04/2020 02:58

Even their @DoIHaveToAdultToday it doesn't say you can't use the service just to use instore if you can .

Redglitter · 03/04/2020 02:58

They're asking people to be considerate and not use deliveries if you dont have to. They're not however giving priority to vulnerable people the way some others are.

DoIHaveToAdultToday · 03/04/2020 02:58

@Peppafrig

"Jog on"

Are you 10?!
Biscuit

Peppafrig · 03/04/2020 02:59

And where does it say I get my shopping delivered for convenience. You are quick to judge . When you know nothing.

PinkSpring · 03/04/2020 03:01

I don't understand how they are working this.

Both myself and my mum went on just before midnight and queued - when she go through, all times for the 23rd were available - I got through literally at the same time and the 23rd for me is completely unavailable for all time slots? We live a few miles apart and it comes from the same store so I don't understand?

DoIHaveToAdultToday · 03/04/2020 03:03

@Peppafrig

I wasn't actually referring to you personally.
It was a general comment.

Time for bed i think

YgritteSnow · 03/04/2020 03:05

The last three nights I have started queuing at 11.55, usually get on about twenty minutes later but they're all gone, not a single one or click and collect slot left. I wonder if it's different by area?

Peppafrig · 03/04/2020 03:06

@DoIHaveToAdultToday oh you think I'm up at 3 am for fun. If I could be in bed I would be . Chance would be a fine thing.

Peppafrig · 03/04/2020 03:07

@PinkSpring have you tried Iceland? I know they release their slots during the day you might have more chance.

DoIHaveToAdultToday · 03/04/2020 03:08

💪

IceBearRocks · 03/04/2020 03:55

I have a child with chronic chest problems requiring suction and nebulisers at home. He is immuno compromised and severely disabled. We nearly lost him last year to sepsis and pneumonia and he had a 2 week PICU stay plus another couple of weeks in hospital.
My husband has multiple Sclerosis and is on immuno suppressant.
CV would kill both my family members but yet I can't get a slot!;
I'm already just eating 1 meal per day so my family is fed and so I can make our food last .
We live rurally so jot even seen a Boris box yet ..... and people who can go to the supermarket are taking delivery slots !!!! It makes me so mad ...but I guess it is survival if the fittest !
Fuck you Jim I'm okay !!
Thanks.........

Peppafrig · 03/04/2020 04:08

That's awful @IceBearRocks maybe Sainsbury’s will contact you soon I know they are working through the shielded list. Although if your really rural maybe they don't cover your area. I hope that Boris box shows up soon no one should be going without food.

PippaPegg · 03/04/2020 04:15

@IceBearRocks

Sorry to hear that. Please reach out for help irl. Don't give up. No one should be starving themselves.

FredaFox · 03/04/2020 07:21

My mum has multiple health issues and can barely walk but isn’t classed as needing shielding on the gov list, she’s had Tesco delivery saver for 6 years since becoming housebound, W was online at 1140 last night, got in the queue at 1159, by 1207 I got in the main site. All gone
Thankfully she has food in cupboards and the freezer but it’s the fresh stuff, just hope I get her a slot at some point

Sammysquiz · 03/04/2020 07:24

I stayed up til midnight and was in a queue on the app. When I got to the front there were no slots left on the new day which had just been published. But on a whim I then logged onto the Tesco website and there were loads of slots showing for that day. Maybe there’s a time lag between the app updating? So use the website not the app!

OneOfTheGrundys · 03/04/2020 07:27

I managed a click and collect.
That’s ok, right? We’re shielding my very vulnerable DH who’s just had a stem cell transplant. If I stand back, they put it in the car/they stand back and I put it in the car it’ll be distance enough?

Impatientwino · 03/04/2020 07:29

@icebearrocks on the off chance you're in Hertfordshire or Bedfordshire I'll happily bring you some shopping if you PM me Thanks

wibdib · 03/04/2020 07:50

I tried just after midnight on Asda, Tesco and Morrison’s - delivery and click and collect - they’re not opening new slots up at the moment; in fact they’ve closed it down to a week or two weeks for some.
I also tried inthe middle of the night and 5 minutes ago - only difference is that Tesco have added a new Thursday slot since 3am but tried at 7 and that was all taken.

A local caterer is offering basics for a week for £35 and/or a meet pack for £25 - tempted to try them!

StealthMama · 03/04/2020 07:57

I've given up on trying. Best option for us is the small co-op and Tesco they have loads of stock and never any queues, just limited to 15 customers in the store at any one time. I even managed to get calpol and baby nurofen for our teething dd which were like finding gold last week.

The only thing I couldn't get was cream but I can put off the meals I needed it for until I get some.

StealthMama · 03/04/2020 08:00

@IceBearRocks the nhs volunteer system is up and running now - go to the gov website and register as needing help and someone will be allocated. They can't do shopping but can deliver food boxes.

orangejuicer · 03/04/2020 08:14

Asda click and collect slots are for the next two weeks. I get no luck on the app, I have to use the web and be logged in before I try.

oneofthegrundys I can only speak for Asda but you put it in the car, not them. They are normally nearer than 2m but you could always ask them to wait while you unload. Most people wear gloves, don't know if that helps you.

PrincessHoneysuckle · 03/04/2020 08:28

@Greendin everyone lives in different areas all over the country surely? It's not like this is a group for just Lancashire or something Confused

OP posts:
Ghostlyglow · 03/04/2020 08:39

So you can only get a delivery slot if you can do it at midnight Hmm
