Be honest - how many toilet rolls in your house?

I realised today we have 18 toilet rolls in the cupboard. To be fair, I always have lots in for some reason. But a friend told me on the phone today, she now has......65. How about you?

Just had a Who gives a Crap delivery, so 48

Imok · 03/04/2020 09:00

48 - we buy from Costco and they come in packs of 40. I have a 'timetable' for certain products, such as washing powder, washing up liquid etc, so I can balance out the cost over the year. It inevitably means that certain items are 'replenished' before they need to be, but it does mean that a) we don't usually run out and b) we haven't taken part in the ridiculous toilet roll extravaganza of the last month or so.
I also have a box is waving powder I'm about to open, which will last me around a year. I haven't been to Costco since February but I'm glad I buy as I do, since it means that our normal shopping can concentrate on food items at the moment.

BlackCatSleeping · 03/04/2020 09:02

Me too, I have a big pack of 40 from Costco plus maybe 8 from the previous pack.

fantasmasgoria1 · 03/04/2020 09:02

20 ish. We buy a 9 pack every week normally because, you know men and the toilet 😂

Martysmarvellousmeals · 03/04/2020 09:02

I keep rolls in decorative baskets by the loo, so about 15 altogether and a pack of 24 which I always buy each month as they usually work out cheaper.

Bluesheep8 · 03/04/2020 10:05

I wonder how many posters who have stockpiled 100s of rolls were out on their doorstep clapping for front line healthcare workers living in their are who can't get basic supplies like loo roll after their shift Hmm

Bluesheep8 · 03/04/2020 10:14

Living in their area

Otterses · 03/04/2020 10:16

48, just our regular who gives a crap order though.

FunkyChunk · 03/04/2020 10:22

I think about 30. We bought a big 24 pack from Makro about a month ago and a couple left from the last packs we bought the months before that.

5 and a half, and we only have that because a staff member in our local village shop saved a 9 pack 'under the counter' for us because some people have been clearing shelves, as we all know. In for 12 weeks with a vulnerable family member too, who doesn't quite make it on to the government list quite rightly able to receive priority help.

I've got more things to worry about without needing to worry on top whether we can get essential supplies including loo roll.

Some people are just a-holes. An apt term in the circumstances. Wink

Thornhill58 · 03/04/2020 10:35

Not sure but quite a bit. I normally order twice a year 120 rolls. I've done it for years. They live in the loft.

Chrisinthemorning · 03/04/2020 10:39

Well over 100 but bought for Brexit, none bought in 2020 at all except the current packet.

BearSoFair · 03/04/2020 10:46
  1. Usually buy packs of 9 and try to have at least 5 rolls in the house at any time (IBS), I did buy an extra 16 pack when people started going crazy as I really wasn't prepared to risk running out if the panic buying went on for weeks! The most we had was around 30 I think.
Roomba · 03/04/2020 10:48
  1. Will get another 4 tomorrow, plenty in my Lidl now!
lucysmam · 03/04/2020 10:50

10 in the packet, plus one on the holder upstairs & down, and two in the drawer upstairs; so 13 out of a pack of 16.

Should last a while.

BeansOnToast4T · 03/04/2020 10:53

I bought a pack of 18 and we have 12 left.

Vanillaradio · 03/04/2020 10:55

About 35. Because dh got so excited that the supermarket actually had toilet paper
last weekend that he bought a 24 pack!

Nquartz · 03/04/2020 10:58

About 25, we bought 45 from Costco about a month ago when they were on special buy. Great timing!

Comefromaway · 03/04/2020 11:05
  1. I normally buy packs of 12 or 18. At the start of lockdown I had about 6 in and I’ve managed to get 2 packs of 4 plus a pack of 8 since then.

My mum has 48 in but she runs a company employing 30 people so she brought the office supply home.

ElephantsAlltheWayDown · 03/04/2020 11:21

We have 60 left from the 84 we had when we got our last Who Gives A Crap delivery in January. Was massively peeved at the time that I had forgotten to cancel the subscription (comes in a box of 48 every 12 weeks), because they're double rolls and take absolutely ages to get through. Now I'm rather pleased!

Lolly86 · 03/04/2020 11:29

7/8 about normal I think for us

Oldraver · 03/04/2020 11:32

25 ish. Normal give or take a few.

We have those pole storage thingies in each loo and then usually a pack of 9 on the go downstairs. So if we rounded them all up would have more than we thought
