(I appreciate some of you won't have the time for crafty stuff before anyone even bothers...)

I fancy trying something new but can't make up my mind - we do have a lot of varied craft supplies in the house already.

What are you making/doing at the mo? :)

I made a latch hook cushion for dd2. The kit has been in the cupboard untouched for at least 2 years.

Then I did a little cross stitch butterfly.

Now I'm working on a crochet blanket I started a couple of years ago. It's mandala madness, which was a crochet along a few years ago. I'm using thicker wool than they suggest so it's growing rather rapidly.

And dd2 and I marbled some pebbles with nail varnish and we're going to hide them on one of our walks this week.

Loving all the crochet. I keep trying to teach myself to crochet, but have never had much success. It is very disappointing

However, on the positive side I have finally finished my embroidery project! It doesn't look like much for the vast number of hours that have gone into it, but I am inordinately proud of it.

I now have to decide what to do with it. I'm going to give it to my mum for Christmas, so I could frame it. Or make it into a cushion or something. Anyone got any more interesting ideas?

That's really sweet Oakmaiden - either a pillow or framed would look nice. Well done 👍

I think a cushion . I love to see these things used and loved .

KatyMac · 11/04/2020 00:06

I have 3 sides of my tent made now DD wants a carnival costume!!

Oakmaiden · 11/04/2020 14:27

So the search for an appropriate fabric for the cushion begins... what colour would you go for? In my mind I see it with a brightish green and cream tiny leaf pattern...

Trumpton · 11/04/2020 16:59

@Oakmaiden Yes a woodland / nature feel would work well .

MulticolourMophead · 12/04/2020 13:14

My internet is down, so I've been finishing of projects. Latest is a plain baby blanket, and I'm just sorting out to start some pompoms for a little banner. All stuff I'd been going to do for ages and didn't Blush

RedMoonRising · 12/04/2020 13:22

I've decided to start a business selling cloth sanitary products I've made!

That is gorgeous!

Millie2013 · 12/04/2020 15:16

I really want to craft, but can’t settle to anything. Love jewellery and card making ordinarily
I’ve ordered some wooden shapes and ink pads from Artcuts (I usually shop with them at craft events) as delivery is free this weekend. No idea what to make with them though
I’ve got such a stash of craft stuff, so no excuse really...

Purpletigers · 12/04/2020 15:18

Cross stitch and I’m going to learn to crochet
I want to make these

Not your typical cross stitch, @Purpletigers. I love them!!

RedMoonRising · 12/04/2020 21:14

The stained glass fabric came from a local fabric shop . It's by Fabric Freedom "Art Deco". It seems to be for sale on eBay and Etsy but I haven't found a fabric freedom website yet

KatyMac · 12/04/2020 22:52

Oakmaiden maybe a pink gingham? Depends on the room it's intended for also I'd think.

Binglebong · 13/04/2020 01:42

Thanks Redroom. Are you a steampunk Katy?

KatyMac · 13/04/2020 09:02

not at all @Binglebong I'm an Eco-designer using vintage and pre-loved household fabrics (tablecloths, curtains bedding) and old offcuts/scraps to make new clothes

I'd like to do steaming and cosplay and stuff but I so far, have been wedding dresses (albeit slightly alternative ones)

So that's not for me Grin but I like it

lucysmam · 13/04/2020 12:23

I have just remembered a project I did want to do this year but hadn't got round to yet...

The picture is my advent calendar, made by my Mum, when I was a little girl. I don't think I dare wash it because it's glued in places rather than stitched.

But it's also looking very sorry for itself & I would like to repair it so it can come out with our other decorations. So, I'm going to cut it new baubles today I think, and see if I have a piece of something big enough for a new pot.

Do any of you think it might wash ok? It's over 30 years old so I don't think the glue will stand machine washing. I could zip round the outline of the tree with my machine though to keep it in place. But then what if the red leaks onto the green Confused.

Any thoughts before I go for it?

Well you do it beautifully. I'd live to see roger pieces you've done.

I think you might enjoy steampunk- a huge amount of that is about adapting and creating. No curtains are safe!

Binglebong · 13/04/2020 13:53

It's lovely Lucy's mum. I'd definitely zig zag round it for security. Dampen some of the red, let it soak in for a few minutes and really scrub at it with kitchen roll (shows ip well!) If it seems ok carefully hand wash it but keep a very close eye on it.

Best of luck!

lucysmam · 13/04/2020 14:20

Well, the tree came off the red really easily, which I didn't expect it to do. So the red is in the washer on it's own, on a cold handwash cycle & low spin. Not sure whether to put the tree in too if this comes out ok. I'm keeping a close eye on it!

I've cut it new baubles, a new star and a pot. I'm off upstairs in a mo for a rummage again, for something for the trunk of the tree this time. I don't recall having anything brown though - it's not a colour I'd usually use. And there's definitely no other felt in the house.

There might be some in my Rainbows' cupboard though that I could use a little of when we're allowed to meet again.

There was some other felt in the house! I've spent today stitching my advent calendar back together Grin. I found my stocking too with the calendar so might repair that next - although I'm almost certain I have no white felt for the snowman so that might have to wait for now...but I will look in the same place as I found the brown first.
