(I appreciate some of you won't have the time for crafty stuff before anyone even bothers...)

I fancy trying something new but can't make up my mind - we do have a lot of varied craft supplies in the house already.

What are you making/doing at the mo? :)

You lot are so talented!
I'd love to be able to do any of these things - no natural ability there sadly ha!

If anyone is making or could make scrubs could they PM me please for a personal request that I'd be willing to pay for!
(Plus size front line nurse who the scrubs stocks don't fit ahem Confused)

FlaviaAlbiaWantsLangClegBack · 02/04/2020 12:58

Search for Facebook groups near you raeray, like "Scrubs Coventry", most are taking requests for sizes and they're all donated free of charge. It might be the quickly way for you to get some. Also Flowers for all you're doing, I hope you keep safe.

If you don't have any luck, let me know and I'll see what I can do. I had a hunt though my hot press and the only polycotton duvet cover I have that might work is rather bobbly and has a dinosaur scene on it I'm afraid Blush

Thanks you so much I'll look now, and if not get in touch again!
I am actually a paeds nurse so dinosaurs appeal 😂 even if I'm going to be caring for adults during all this!

Bakerofcakes · 02/04/2020 15:37

I have just finished a pair of socks

Anywhere actually got any crochet kits I can order? And are still shipping?

A few months ago I gave all my wool away to my MIL as I didn't have enough time to do anything. Regretting it so much!!! Sad

There's barely a thing to be had on the likes of Amazon.

averythinline · 02/04/2020 16:16

I've ordered mine from wool Warehouse.., it's taking a big longer but got my dispatched today so very excited!

The moorland looks lovely but want to be at the seaside so coast or dune pattern for me!

CatBatCat · 02/04/2020 16:27

I'm making some cold-pressed soap. I'm going fancy with some fragrances and attempt to do some swirly patterns with dye. The last batch was just a plain unscented as it was my first go and I just wanted to play about really. I've just ordered the stuff to make it and it'll take about a month to cure properly so I hope our current batch lasts long enough till it ready.

FthisS · 02/04/2020 16:31

Can anyone point me to the pattern for the seaside CAL I can't find it on the original persons page it just brings me to part 35. Thanks Smile

SinkGirl · 02/04/2020 16:32

Considering ordering some more yarn to make more of these toys for the twins in the evenings. I have so much yarn but never the right weight / colour for when I find a project. In the loft I have a partially finished stranded blanket so maybe I’ll dig that out. And a partially finished ripple blanket. And three partially finished tapestries 😂

Wool Warehouse is now UK only and I'm not in the UK. Sad

Will have to keep searching.

FlaviaAlbiaWantsLangClegBack · 02/04/2020 18:37

All my LYS's are doing postal or car deliveries Elizabeth, are there any near you? Folklore Yarns in Belfast stock Drops yarn amongst fancier brands and are doing postal runs on Fridays if you DM them on Instagram or text the owner.

Also, thanks for the sock yarn information lazylinguist!

ElspethFlashman · 02/04/2020 18:40

No, am not in the UK as I said.

Thanks though!

FlaviaAlbiaWantsLangClegBack · 02/04/2020 18:45

Oh I know, but they'd post to you. It wouldn't be as far to come as from some of the bigger companies like Deramores who take ages to dispatch (I think I remember you're in Ireland from threads we've both been on, sorry if that's stalky or wrong!)

BetelgeuseIsOrionsArmpit · 02/04/2020 19:00

I made a fused glass rainbow to make people smile when they walk past my house.

TorysSuckRevokeArticle50 · 02/04/2020 21:04

I've also taken up blogging to record our daily life during all this weirdness. DD is only 5 and I figure 'The great virus of 2020' will be part of GCSE history lessons in 20-30 years so wanted her to have a record of what is was like for average folk.

MaJoady · 04/04/2020 14:01

@pickAChew sorry to hear that Sad (and sorry, I didn't notice your reply for a few days). Are you able to get your crafty fix in other ways?

MaJoady · 04/04/2020 14:07

@SinkGirl are they Lalylala patterns? Beautifully done, and I love her stuff! You've done all my favourite ones too: the lion, sheep and kangaroo. What do you want to make next? The fly also speaks to me because of the lovely colours, but it's not the most obvious subject matter!

SinkGirl · 04/04/2020 19:23

Yes, her designs are amazing! Have made lots of the little ones too.

Not sure what to do next. I’ve made them for the twins birthdays (there are two smaller ones from their first birthday too) but I cannot go bigger this year 😂 I love the seahorse and the mushroom (and the mermaid and the vampire bat 😂).

I might just make bigger versions of the little ones - I love the pineapple so much! There are some new superhero ones too.

Cross stitch mainly - not something that needs too much concentration.

All your pictures look great! I've been wanting to learn to crochet properly for years. Have started many times but never quite mastered it. I'd love to make a blanket of Afghan squares. Would anyone recommend a kit that I could buy? I'm sure there are loads out there but a recommendation would be great!

SinkGirl · 05/04/2020 13:13

Wool Warehouse do kits for the Attic 24 blankets and various others - those patterns are nice and easy with really good tutorials on their website - and if you want to do another pattern made of squares that you find online, then it’s great to just use one of the packs as the colours go really well together.

MulticolourMophead · 05/04/2020 13:59

I've got a pattern to crochet a lovely door curtain that will keep flies out. So that's now been added to my list.

Entschuldigung Have you tried YouTube tutorials for learning to crochet? You may have to try different people before you get one that helps, and I've seen that you can get tutorials for left handed people too.
