I realise I can't go for a while so in the meantime what do other MNetters think of this city? Is it pleasant to the eye, relatively clean, many galleries, museums? Thanks for any info.

RandomMess The do, but only up to 3 miles apparently, I'm too far. Can't have them smashed, the crunch is crucial to the taste. First day I'm back in the office I'm on it!

Shockers · 04/04/2020 10:24

I didn’t know they delivered. We live 2 minutes walk from a Booths though, so perhaps it’s better I leave the deliveries for folk who are further away...

TedsFederationRep · 04/04/2020 10:27

You live a two-minute walk from Booths? Stop boasting Grin

RandomMess · 04/04/2020 10:51

Blimey it's about 15/20 minute walk for us but it does allow the dog to stretch her legs...

I was 15 minutes walk from Booths, now it's a dentist 😢

Ah well, something to look forward to.

BeeFarseer · 04/04/2020 13:46

Bloody love Booths. I consider myself an honorary Lancastrian, having gone to secondary school there and survived living in Preston for several years. Grin

Who cares if I was born in Merseyside, it was Lancashire first.

RandomMess · 06/04/2020 20:58

Can't remember when it last rained and keep having to shut the curtains to eat dinner otherwise get blinded by the sun.

Really grim up here it is...

lancasterlass · 06/04/2020 21:38

I know, my poor plant pots actually need watering.

koshkatt · 06/04/2020 22:50

Lancaster is dingy, it rains every single day and it is a bit 'rough'.

DuchessMinnie · 07/04/2020 20:36

I was a student there 1989-1993, loved it. I was into fringed skirts and lots of eyeliner and I fitted right in. Loved the Alex in Lancaster and the Gardens in morecambe. I had a part time job in the chip shop on the main road. I used to take home leftover chips for my housemates.

MLMsuperfan · 07/04/2020 23:30

The Alex is long gone sadly. The Water Witch is still there though.
