I had been thinking of starting on the sims again

DH is busy on call of duty.
I’ve never seen him play a computer game in all the time I’ve known him!

pinkrocker · 28/03/2020 13:54

I've been playing Township far too much. I might re-enter the world of the Sims now. Although I was particularly evil to mine when I was young 30 and plotted new ways for them to die!
On the app do the cheat codes work or is that just on laptop?

NemophilistRebel · 28/03/2020 14:03

My laptop is a work one with restrictions on downloads so I may need to find an online platform instead

Are there any decent ones out there for someone who’s at least 15 years out of practise?

I used to love sims and transport tycoon the most

Kingdom Come Deliverence. RPG set in 1400s Bohemia so no monsters or magic. Very immersive and realistic. Seemed a bit too much at the start, you have eat/sleep/wash. Cant save whenever you like (saves when you sleep in your own bed) and I died a lot initially. Almost gave up but then reached a point where I could survive fights, and do more stuff as my skills increased and love it now. There is one quest though where you have to infiltrate a monastery and it's basically a monk simulator for a while Grin. Have to admit getting annoyed with this quest and had to use google so I could finish it quicker. Other than that a great game. Not quite up there with Witcher 3 but very close in my opinion. Feeling a bit sad as I think I'm getting near the end now so starting to think about available DLC.

I've saved this thread. I'm going to go looking for my sims discs later!! Roll on bed time!!!

TeaAddict235 · 28/03/2020 18:11

Haha ha @Knocksomesense , People usually can't wait for bedtime for other reasons (wine, sex, freedom, etc), but we're here salivating over computer games Grin

Theme hospital is on origin?

Soubriquet · 28/03/2020 18:22

Thank you!

I can’t afford two point hospital just yet but £5 for theme hospital? Fab!

AuntHilda · 28/03/2020 18:25

A sequel to Theme Hospital you say? That's my Saturday night sorted!!

Pasithea · 28/03/2020 18:31

Where can I get sims. Which one is best. No disks as laptop does not have disk drive.

Soubriquet · 28/03/2020 18:38

Sign up and download origin

It’s on there

AlfieandAnnieRose · 28/03/2020 18:48

For those without a laptop or computer I play Sims on my old iPad and it’s really good. I downloaded it for free from the App Store. Obviously not as good as the sims you’d play on the computer but it’s better than nothing!

Moonshine160 · 28/03/2020 19:24

Do I need a gaming laptop to play on the sims or just a standard laptop with good memory capacity? I only ever used to play Sims 2 on a PC but we literally don’t have room in the house so looking to buy a laptop instead.

I’m back on Two Point Hospital too! Love the Sims too.

You people should also try our Planet Coaster (similar to RCT) and Planet Zoo (beautiful game)

Knocksomesense · 28/03/2020 21:37

@TeaAddict235 I have two preschoolers so am definitely very excited for computer games!

We had a dinner party on Zoom tonight so will have to look at the games tomorrow. Might have to get them hospital!

Does anyone remember the theme park game that was on the SNES? Epic game

TerribleCustomerCervix · 28/03/2020 21:38

I bought Two Point Hospital off the back of this thread- it arrived yesterday and I stayed up till 1:30am playing it...

juneybean · 28/03/2020 22:16

If any steam players of two point hospital and want to friend send me a private message :)

CassidyStone · 28/03/2020 22:30

I LOVE The Sims but it's a shame they've learned to leap out of the pool when the ladder's removed. No more drowning, although my houses regularly burn down when one of them leaves the cooker on and goes for a bath.

I also love Theme Hospital but it's very stressful when the handymen all walk out and patients are puking in the corridors and then the inflation machine to cure Bloaty Head blows up because I forgot to maintain it.
I was also a tad disconcerted to see one of the visiting celebrities is called Sir Billy Savile.

GrimDamnFanjo · 29/03/2020 02:39

Found my people! I'm gaming most nights as I find it really relaxing.
Anyone got any good adventure game recommendations?

maneandfeathers · 29/03/2020 06:41

Theme hospital is back for those of you with a Nintendo switch.
It’s almost the same as the original.

I have spent about 5 hours of lockdown building hospitals Blush

Knocksomesense · 29/03/2020 07:00

I'm so excited about this!

HighNoon · 29/03/2020 07:08

I've been wasting my life on Planet Zoo. A worthy successor to Zoo Tycoon with a dash of Rollercoaster Tycoon too. There's a lot to do in it, mainly breaking up fights between the male animals. Maybe too close to reality for some?!

TerribleCustomerCervix · 29/03/2020 09:49

The hospital game is also on pc through Steam. I’m playing on the Xbox so poor DH has to watch me build fake hospitals for like three hours a night 😂.

It really is fantastic- it’s kept all the quirky bits from the original but obviously updated the technology etc. 100% would recommend!
