Quite obscure but I downloaded Airline Tycoon last week. Thought I was good at it as a child but I was clearly kidding myself, it's quite complicated!

AndNoneForGretchenWieners · 24/03/2020 22:55

Can you still get the holiday expansion pack, the one with the log cabins and hot tubs in the forest?

Qgardens · 24/03/2020 22:57

Dd has been talking of reloading this onto her computer. She's looking forward to it.

I've recently watched Call the Midwife from the start. I'm now on Death in Paradise. I haven't watched the last series of Poldark, so that's coming up.

SimplySteveRedux · 24/03/2020 23:00

@Soubriquet

my laptop doesn’t have a disc drawer

You can buy external USB DVD drives from Amazon for about £15

Isitrainingihadntnoticed · 24/03/2020 23:01

My sims life is mediocre at the mo, caterer at level 2, earns extra money selling her paintings. She has one friend that offends easily. Still better than reality atm

Do you use cheats?

Rosebud
Kaching

AndNoneForGretchenWieners · 24/03/2020 23:06

Motherlode is the best cheat!

justfeellikedancing42nite · 24/03/2020 23:11

Sims is awesome. I am back playing it as it was free on dh playstation. (I think I lost a whole evening the other day.)I haven't shown my Dd the joy of the pool with only a slide. I know I'm not the only one that does it.

TerribleCustomerCervix · 24/03/2020 23:45

I haven’t played without using cheats in about 15 years 😂

BritishHorrorStory · 24/03/2020 23:56

There’s a new theme hospital game out with a different name but I can’t remember what it’s called now but I think it came out early this year or last year. I haven’t played it but I think it got good reviews.

LonginesPrime · 25/03/2020 00:32

I get bored of the sims once I've made
an awesome house for them. Although whereas the mundanity of going to work and coming home day after day in the game wasn't appealing before, it might feel like quite an exciting life now!

Also love Theme Hospital (absolute favourite) although the graphics look so poor now!

Ooh, and Harvest Moon, although farming does often feel like hard work. Very easy to lose a whole day IRL to ploughing your fields, trading eggs and fishing, but such a lovely little world.

PawPawNoodle · 25/03/2020 00:34

@BritishHorrorStory Two Point Hospital

Thepigeonsarecoming · 25/03/2020 00:37

I was thinking of reinstalling Sims, although that maybe because it’s constantly popping up in Facebook adverts. They know your real life is fucked up and so they spam you with adverts for alternatives. Crafty marketing bastards!!! It’s working too I was looking at the expansion packs I never got round to buying earlier today!!

TaliZorahVasNormandy · 25/03/2020 08:44

Anyone who liked Theme Hospital will love Two Point Hospital.

Sparklfairy · 25/03/2020 09:05

I probably shouldn't confess to this Sims story as some may say it revealed a lot about the warped mind of teenage me.

But I decided to make the Royal Family, I think it was the Queen and Phillip, the Queen Mother (alive at the time), Charles and Camilla, William and Harry.

I took a slightly sinister pleasure in making them work shitty jobs and struggle to pay bills.

Then shortly afterwards IRL, the Queen Mother died.

I decided to kill her off in the game. I built a 1x1 room with no escape and left her there. True to form, the tough old boot took much longer than the average Sim to die.

I'm a terrible person.

Grin

That is awesome sparkl

My worst has to be one sim got pregnant but her husband cheated on her and she found out.

She was pregnant at the time and when she finally gave birth (to twins!) she refused to look after them as she kept standing in the corner crying.

Well social services turned up and removed the babies, which then caused her to cry even more.

She then died from heartbreak

Sparklfairy · 25/03/2020 09:37

Omg Soubriquet that is better than mine! Oh the havoc we would wreak on the lives on these poor Sims.

I'm worried I'm a little too grown up old now to fully enjoy it like I did. Also Sims 4 is much more complex than 1 and 2 (obviously) so my days have been spent trying to get promotions at work rather than find a bloke and procreate, and the biological clock is ticking. I miss the simple days of serial cheaters and punch ups and the trail of devastation!

I also attempted to play with more than one family member the other day and just couldn't cope with managing everyone Grin

Soubriquet · 25/03/2020 09:45

I have sims 4 now and I miss sims 3

I can only play one family at a time too. But a least they cheats still work and I don’t have to worry about money

Harveyrabbit76 · 25/03/2020 09:48

Replaying Witcher 3, skyrim and on elder scrolls online. I miss the Sims! I used to play a game where you had to build successful Roman towns, that was a real time killer. Thinking about purchasing Assassins Creed

Harveyrabbit76 · 25/03/2020 09:49

Zoo tycoon is good too!

Apolloanddaphne · 25/03/2020 09:54

I used to love Zoo Tycoon. Can I still play it? What platform is it on?

BasilDiffuser · 25/03/2020 09:58

I love sims! I’ve been playing it since it launched 20 years ago. Wish I could play it now but I don’t think my toddler would approve. Will have to wait till bedtime. I’m on my 5th generation of my current family so all the townies are hideous with awful names.

AintNobodyHereButUsChickens · 25/03/2020 10:02

I have Sims 4, it's ace! Although you can't drown them in the swimming pools anymore, I took away the pool ladder and my sim simply climbed out using the side Hmm

The 'new' Theme Hospital is Two Point Hospital and it's just like the old one but with far better graphics!

I adore RDR2 or The Witcher 3, anything that includes riding horses through amazing countryside is right up my street, bad guys are just a bonus Grin

evilharpy · 25/03/2020 10:04

I wonder if my geriatric macbook would run The Sims. Is it quite resource-hungry or not?

Gutted to hear you can't drown them anymore though :(
