What are you going to do about your hair?

Not go to the hairdresser obviously. I mean how are you going to deal with your hair at home in the long term? It could be months before hairdressers can open again.

Mine is cut and coloured fairly regularly and it's quite a 'style' that can't be dealt with by a trim at home by DH or something. Roots starting to come through, have never home dyed so no idea where to start!

It's not the end of the world obviously but I'm NHS and going to work everyday so I need some sort of plan. I was very ill last year and couldn't leave the house for nearly 3 months and my hair was rancid which just amplified my general feeling of misery so I'm keen not to feel like that again if I can help it!

Turbans will be worn most days, also thinking about buying a top hat as I've always wanted one.

What are you going to do about your hair?
MrsMoastyToasty · 22/03/2020 14:20

I'm more concerned about my moustache.

Chipsahoy · 22/03/2020 14:23

Luckily I got mine cut the other week and had it cut extra short as I thought it could be a while!

Yes it will be interesting . I have roots and fringe trim every 5 weeks, cut every 10. I was booked in for Tuesday.
My hair will depress me. Yes it's shallow. But then everyone else will look shit.

BloomedAgain · 22/03/2020 14:27

I've just cut mine. It's a shoulder length blunt bob. I'd been overdue for a cut but my salon closed a few days before my appointment.

NemoTeamo · 22/03/2020 14:34

Im due to have my colour redone in about 3 weeks. I think I might just... Stop. I hate going to the hairdressers at the best of times. I'm likely to lose my job so wont really be able to justify £100 every 7 weeks anyway.
If this is the only negative from this thing to happen to me then Im happy.

PanamaPattie · 22/03/2020 14:46

I'm going to embrace my grey and cut my fringe with the bacon scissors. What could possibly go wrong?

DinosApple · 22/03/2020 14:47

DH sports the made scientist look already, big fluffy white curls...

I've threatened to do him a man bun and turn him into a hipster. He's requested a Viking plait in his beard too 😂. Could be interesting when we finally head out again.

LloydColeandtheCoconuts · 22/03/2020 15:16

Headscarves all the way.

Purpletigers · 22/03/2020 15:20

Mine is long and will be fine . My son’s needs cut atm but he’ll live . He’ll look like Boris and Donald’s lovechild within weeks but he’ll survive .

Fivefourthree · 22/03/2020 15:35

@DinosApple, that made me laugh. My DH is similar!

Strawberrycreamsundae · 22/03/2020 15:53

Thank goodness I have silver grey hair cut into a sharp bob. I guess i will trim my fringe but beyond that I reckon it should still look good growing longer. I’m so thankful that my hairdresser is brilliant at cutting my hair!

NoMorePoliticsPlease · 22/03/2020 15:56

Oh dear

missyB1 · 22/03/2020 15:58

God this is going to be tricky for me! I have a short elfin type style that is cut and thinned out (loads) every 6 weeks. Impossible to do myself. I will soon have a bush on my head 😬

panicstationsready · 22/03/2020 16:05

We could all go back to the scarves they used in the war - google land army scarves and you'll get lots of ideas...

isseywith4vampirecats · 22/03/2020 16:07

same as I always do get up in the morning brush it and wash it twice a week my hair is long and not dyed

TheReluctantCountess · 22/03/2020 16:10

I usually only have a trim once a year and I had it done just after Christmas 😆

StrongMama1989 · 22/03/2020 16:21

Wtf??? Shave your head if needs be! It’s hair! Hair!!!!!

madcatladyforever · 22/03/2020 16:26

Nothing. It's very long so no cut to worry about but I have highlights to cover the hideous mousey grey underneath so I'm going to end up with 6 inch roots and feel like crap. I'm not doing Clairol again. Last time it went orange.

Barkingfuckingdogs · 22/03/2020 16:26

We know it's hair ffs.....it's just a bit of light relief. We KNOW there are more important things happening right now......we know all too bloody well. Can we ONLY discuss more serious/highbrow subjects tho.......talking of which, eyebrows are going to get interesting too 😆

AuntieMarys · 22/03/2020 16:27

Well said barking.
I have a long fringe so eyebrows not an issue. It's the grey!

StrongMama1989 · 22/03/2020 16:28

If you can deal with just leaving it to grow with no colouring then shave your head!

Iminaglasscaseofemotion · 22/03/2020 16:30

Well the last time I got mine cut, I got it cut much shorter than usual. It will take a good 3 or 4 months to grow back to its normal length, and I dye it myself. Just did it a week ago, and have an extra dye it the drawer for about 5 weeks time.

36degrees · 22/03/2020 17:02

I had an appointment booked for next week so it's going to look very shit very soon. Just thinking of the money I'm saving, I guess.

TravellingSpoon · 22/03/2020 17:33

I've got a biz dye and will be doing that, lengths before roots.

I am most worried about my eyelashes as I get them lifted every 8 weeks and it's already been 3. I know I am shallow but I dont care.
