As title this is just for fun

If you did join in with looting where would you go?
I'm not meaning food but everyday stuff that people take for no gain .
I will start ( as expected) I will loot Waterstones as I love reading and reckon I will need something to pass the time, plus the medical books I need cost a fortune!

OP posts:
ilovepixie · 18/03/2020 20:53

Book shop
Chocolate shop
Vodka shop

Myimaginarypenguinhasfleas · 18/03/2020 20:53

IKEA. Not so much for the products as the endless entertainment and/or challenge of assembling everything during the long days, weeks and months of self-isolation.

AlCalavicci · 18/03/2020 20:55

@MrsDoylesTeaBags we may live in the same town ( unless there is more than 1 Abakhan )

I will raid Argos I need a new sofa , and would like some speakers for my laptop .
I will also go to a camping shop, probably Blacks and scoop all there camping meals

AnneBoleynsHead · 18/03/2020 20:58

TK Maxx, if I could lock myself in for a day to study all the toiletries and homewares (you're welcome to the clothes)

AlCalavicci · 18/03/2020 20:58

@Myimaginarypenguinhasfleas
oooh thats a good idea , we could have comp's to see who can build the fastest , swear the least , keep their sanity the longest

DBML · 18/03/2020 21:08

The bank.

Redcrayons · 18/03/2020 21:16

My dream lockdown scenario would be in ikea.

I could happily rotate between all the teeny show apartments and live off all the Diam bar cake.

I’d probably do a quick ram raid at Curry’s on the way there to get a new phone and a proper telly to replace the pretend ones.

I have thought through this scenario more than once and it’s not just for times of national emergency.

Myimaginarypenguinhasfleas · 18/03/2020 21:43

My dream lockdown scenario would be in ikea.

Too right. Everything Redcrayons said, plus the everlasting coffee/hot chocolate machine. Yes, I could see that working...

springydaff · 18/03/2020 22:04

Sorry, but Prada.

I don't care that they're Italian.

LuluJakey1 · 18/03/2020 22:07

The patisserie/cake place near us.
A crisp factory.

longwayoff · 18/03/2020 22:33

Great, will be looting the Garden Centre. Taking a truck. Fab. Don't expect to see anyone else there, oddlySmile

OhWhatFuckeryIsThisNow · 18/03/2020 22:54

A Pen shop for seriously expensive fountain pens and posh stationery. Then the choc shop in our town for their stock of Lakeland toffee.

TheoriginalLEM · 18/03/2020 23:33

I feel like I'm never going to escape from Ikea when I go in. I think it would be like an amazing dream and a nightmare all at once

turkeyontheplate · 18/03/2020 23:35

Are libraries allowed? There's a few bits and bobs in the stacks at the Bodleian I wouldn't mind getting my hands on Grin

Crunchymum · 18/03/2020 23:39

I'd loot Sainsbury's

Oh wait, that has already been done every day for the past week Grin

TheABC · 18/03/2020 23:44

Yarn store. You can never have enough.
Waterstones
L'Occitane
Phase Eight
Hotel Chocolat.
Rigby and Pellars

LunchBoxPolice · 18/03/2020 23:45

Jo Malone.

JadziaSnax · 18/03/2020 23:48

Boots, hobbycraft and my Dad's fridge cos that's where he keeps the kit kats.

OhLookHeKickedTheBall · 18/03/2020 23:48

DH would do the Lego shop and Smyths toys, I'd do Currys and then we'd do hobbycraft to keep the kids entertained and leaving our stash alone.

Purpletigers · 19/03/2020 01:24

Emma Bridgewater , the Lego store , an art gallery, hobbycraft and a bookshop .

GrimDamnFanjo · 19/03/2020 01:47

M&S food hall. Space NK. Lego shop.

1066vegan · 19/03/2020 01:54

I thought Waterstone's as soon as I saw the title; opened the thread and ever other poster had the same idea.

I think I'll have to get to my local Waterstone's really early and barricade myself in. I'll be prepared to open the barricade for fellow looters who can prove that they're Mumsnetters who are bringing supplies from the Lego Shop, Hobbycraft or have vegan goodies.

Anyone bringing Sylvanians would be especially welcome. When dd was younger, dd and I used to have fantasies about setting up a huge permanent Sylvanian village.

Lynda07 · 19/03/2020 02:45

Boots, Superdrug, Lloyds and Lidl.

caribooshriek · 19/03/2020 03:14

Emma Bridgewater and Chanel and Hermes and Boots

steppemum · 19/03/2020 10:20

Great, will be looting the Garden Centre.

Oh great idea, unfortunately they aren't very fully stocked yet.

I could also go to the builders merchants and get a shed/home office thing.
and enough patio slabs so we could pave the hideous concrete pad that is our patio.

Actually just the idea of getting those patio slabs makes me feel sad that this is all fantasy Grin
