Closed down or discontinued - what do you miss?

My local Oasis closed down before Christmas and I miss it so much! I've just been browsing their website and it's just not the same as seeing something on the hanger and thinking "ooh that's pretty!"
My favourite perfume and lipstick have been discontinued. I've been stockpiling thanks to ebay but they've been gone so long now I don't think I will get any more of either now. I won't look or smell the same soon Sad
What do you miss?
I fully expect this thread to be lots of people missing Woolworths and yes I still miss them too

TAB - the fizzy clear drink...my all time favourite
Aqua Libra

Lostchocs · 20/02/2020 20:27

chipsychopsy yes! 1994! I can remember it was exactly then because I had it when I started 6th form in that year.

I’d forgotten about the clock up paste deodorant - that was quite good.

And I only recently discovered that Thornton’s no longer sell their fondant pigs and mice or the jelly fish and spiders. Gutted! They were so nice.

LHMBF · 20/02/2020 20:27

I had forgotten about the milky way with the brown filling.
I wish the body shop would bring back all of it's 80's and 90's ranges.
Toys R us and Woolworths.
Bay trading.
Chocolate rich tea biscuits.

Yves Rocher

Lostchocs · 20/02/2020 20:29

alltoomuchrightnow have you tried the Jasmine and Henna Fluff Ease hair mask from Lush? I generally don’t like many of their products these days (or some of their politics) but their hair masks are amazing and I think this one could be right up your street.

Lostchocs · 20/02/2020 20:30

PS Milky Way with the brown filling (which was so much nicer) reappeared a few years later but was marked as Flyte - the chocolate bar for dieters. Cheeky.

LHMBF · 20/02/2020 20:31

Also why are pp saying full fat Dr pepper? Isn't it the one in the red cans and bottles? The diet one in the white ones?

Crimeismymiddlename · 20/02/2020 20:34

BHS and bedhead shine junkie-nothing has quite replaced it.

Moonflower12 · 20/02/2020 20:36

M and S used to do a Vegetable Bake. It was delicious. Sort of shredded veg in a white peppery sauce.

SilkCottonTree · 20/02/2020 20:42

I also miss Neal Street East in Covent Garden, it was a real treasure trove of a place!

Herocomplex · 20/02/2020 20:48

Silk it really was. And Food For Thought for delish veggie food.

easythere · 20/02/2020 20:52

When I was a very little girl and the local 'morrisons' was 'Safeway' they used to do a big rectangular chocolate cake in a white box and it had a purple ribbon on... me and my mother still talk about that cake when I see her Smile

I was shopping in Flensburg, north Germany yesterday. The C and A is just the same. There is now a Woolworth, didn't used to be there, my mil says they are only in the bigger cities. Disappointed with Woolworth, no pick and mix sweets, no ladybird clothes and no Chad valley toys.

IWillWearTheGreenWillow · 20/02/2020 20:58

Flex shampoo and conditioner - smelled divine, although it probably helps that my first proper boyfriend used it on his mane of long hair. The memory of the smell makes me come over slightly teenage and giggly. Blush

Cornsilk loose face powder. Perfect colour, didn't bring me out in lumps. Win / win.

Superdrug bath bubbles, the red bottle. Part of a series of 4, about 30 years ago, originally named Earth/Air/Fire/Water and then changed I think to Spring/ Summer/Autumn/Winter. The red one was Fire / Winter and smelled gloriously of sandalwood, pepper and cinnamon. It made me feel warm and safe and loved and I've never found anything like it again, although Radox MEN pepper and ginseng is close.

I miss percy pigs with real pig. The potato starch isn't doing it for me at all.

Every single time i find the right shade foundation, the buggers change the names/tones and i have to start again. They've just changed all the powders now, why for godssake?

Oh, and Woolworths..

Boden doing petite tops

They very briefly did long length in a few of their tops. I loved that.

dayswithaY · 20/02/2020 21:24

Mr Kipling used to do chocolate covered cup cakes in a foil case - they also did Orange and lemon ones, so delicious. A thick layer of fondant icing with vanilla sponge. Do they still sell them?

Soft Talk perfume by Miss Selfridge, Henara Camomile shampoo, Hawkins Bazaar, Ravel shoes, Mikey jewellery, Tom Ford Violet Blonde perfume. I'm shocked that Bourjois make up is discontinued - their Pot Rouge blusher is legendary!
