Toddler names for things

Anyone want to share toddlers' odd names for things?

The other day DS described a miaow as a "cat woof". We also "turn the dark on" rather than "turn the light off".

Candy fluff - Candy floss

Arm sleeves and leg sleeves

She asked me if I could 'fast forward backwards' (rewind) her film because she missed a bit Grin

Bumpy horse - Camel

Cumbunder - cucumber

mynameisMrG · 28/01/2020 18:40

My DS says ‘can I have a carryooh’ when he wants picking up. From me asking ‘do you want me to carry you?’

PickleMyPepper · 28/01/2020 18:41

Oh and '3 looks like a bottom' - a personal favourite

Milicentbystander72 · 28/01/2020 18:48

Love these.

Mine are teenagers now but I fondly remember -

"Mum! My eyes have stopped" (waking up when it's dark)

"Dalek bread" (garlic bread)

Warmy Warmy (hot water bottle)

'Meat Buffers' - Beef Esters at the Tower of London

"Bum space" (Er......the gap between arse cheeks!)

meow1989 · 28/01/2020 18:52

Ds 19m refers to lights as barts. No idea why, his pronunciation with other words is generally pretty impressive.

BikeRunSki · 28/01/2020 19:02

She's not a toddler, but my 5yo dd scored a 'patrick' at football last week.

DDs football club calls 6 goals a “Patrick”, so maybe your 5yo really did score a Patrick beela?

DrMadelineMaxwell · 28/01/2020 19:04

Scarecrow = velcro

Nearlyhadenough · 28/01/2020 19:52

PaperDreamsHoney · 28/01/2020 19:53

Wheezing with laughter at 'cow sieve'!

Now that others have mentioned it, we have leg sleeves here as well.

Not a toddler, but my almost 5yr old DD calls instructions "constructions". Which when it comes to Lego they are!

Skyejuly · 28/01/2020 19:55

Mine calls her dummy an eddy.

Mileymileymoomoo · 28/01/2020 19:56

Pencils and noodles - pins and needles

cliffdiver · 28/01/2020 19:56

I overheard a toddler at a local zoo park asking why the 'fat cunt roller' wasn't with Thomas (there was a Thomas the Tank Engine train) Grin

FreakyToes · 28/01/2020 19:59

I was scratching my head and my niece (3) asked if I was 'itsy' 🥰

StarspaXxX · 28/01/2020 20:00

'Armbows' (elbows)
'Doombumber' (cucumber)
'Jalamas' (pyjamas)

And my utter favourite is actually from current 9yo... a rhinoceros is a 'battle unicorn'.

ILoveYou3000 · 28/01/2020 20:00
