I'm very bad, to be fair. Grew up in S.Wales before Welsh was brought back.

I think the full correct version is Rydw i but it gets abbreviated to Dwi'n or Rwy'n depending where you live. Dwi'n meddwl D lle dwi'n byw. I think the full written form is Rwyf yn. Pan dwi'n siarad dwi'n dweud dwi'n. Very complicated to say "I am" and no straight yes or no either. I did, I didn't, I do, I don't etc.

I also have trouble with how formal you should be in a setting such as this.

I learned "yr ydwyf" in school; it seems to have progressed into "rwyf" then "rydw i" then "dwi". And in speech, it's "fi" as in "fi'n mynd" etc.

I quite like "popty ping" for microwave but I'm not sure if it's an urban myth or not. Popty is a real word, though. (Some people think it's poppity ping).

I normally just say "meicro".

Popty ping is an urban myth but it sounds funny. I think I nuke or ping my food. I say maicrowef, like I say stof and ffrij Sorry, accents are missing.
When I remember I say rhewgell and microdon.

Fi'n mynd... looks and sounds wrong.
Dwi'n mynd is fine... although what you mean is
Yr ydwyf i yn mynd...

Rwy'n bwyta uwd is ok
Dwi'n bwyta uwd is ok.

D sometimes indicates a negation

Nid yw hi yma
becomes
Dyw hi yma

In my accent I'd say
Di'm yma

Noswaith dda pawb. Sorry if im posting too often or derailing things, but I've been thinking (like). What about abbreviations like DH, DD, DS etc? The adjective"annwyl" comes after the noun, so doesn't "treiglo", ee, MA, DS ; MA, DD

Also, a number of accents used in Welsh change the pronunciation and sometimes meaning of the word in Welsh. I'm new to MN,but have read for years, maybe I'm being twp? (Missing a "to bach" , again
accent missing) or maybe done external comms for too long . . .?

I'm finding it useful to try and work out what you are talking about, then c/p into translate. Then try work out which word is which, deleting them to see how the translation is affected. I'm learning so much! I wish we'd had all these tools when I was doing languages at school!

If you are ok with Fi'n a Sai'n then that's ok, it's dialect. As long as people understand you.

Translate is great but not 100% reliable.
