Has anybody got any weird things that usual people find normal but make you feel v uncomfortable. Mine are I hate dripping water or the feeling of wet cardboard or toilet paper. It makes me cringe wholeheartedly, No idea why.

Milk. Particularly if it's dripping down the jug and creating a little circle of milk on the table. It makes my skin crawl. I was in a cafe recently and milk was served in a little transparent glass bottle so I could see the contents (why would you do that?). I had to ask the person I was with to move it behind the flowers.

Potatoes. Just the floury ones. I don't mind waxy ones as they are reasonably solid. Mash is bleuch too. I hate eating with anyone who lets little bits of potato spill on the table. So that rules out most young kids and a surprising number of adults. If I need to clean it up, it involves a large wad of paper towel as no way is my nice cloth getting contaminated.

Crumpets. The look of them make me feel sick

lotusbell · 25/01/2020 20:12

Tom Jones.

pinklillie · 25/01/2020 20:17

@pizzaaddict I thought it was just me!!

Eckhart · 25/01/2020 20:30

I've been scared of crumpets all my life.
Recently I discovered that this is a 'thing', and it's called 'trypophobia'. Lots of holey or clustery things are deeply horrifying to me, but also compelling to look at. Do not google the word trypophobia and look at the images. Just don't.

Eckhart · 25/01/2020 20:34

@OneStepOneStumble sorry, I thought I'd checked to see if anyone had mentioned trypophobia yet. I'm not very good at checking, clearly.

Peanut butter. It's so claggy and thick and makes me feel like someone might choke on it!

StormOfSekhmet · 25/01/2020 21:16

Clusters of holes make me feel great revulsion.

OneStepOneStumble · 25/01/2020 22:57

@Eckhart I'm just glad I'm not alone to be honest. It's the worst when you just can't stop looking at it even though it's so horrible 🤢

Cardboard straws, or cardboard lollipop sticks (like the ones you get in the middle of a chuppa chup). Bleh.

Chocmallows · 26/01/2020 01:00

Glitter, if it sticks on your fingers you find it for weeks on your face

keepingbees · 26/01/2020 11:09
