Has anybody got any weird things that usual people find normal but make you feel v uncomfortable. Mine are I hate dripping water or the feeling of wet cardboard or toilet paper. It makes me cringe wholeheartedly, No idea why.

The very idea of biting a sponge makes me feel really uncomfortable.

also hate the term 'ick' as well as other twee words like 'hubby'

Southmouth · 25/01/2020 02:29

Adam’s apple, makes me feel physically sick, luckily OH’s doesn’t stick out very much.

When cotton wool balls and pad make that squeaky noise getting them out of the pack.

Nails catching on clothes

Hairs on anything especially wet hairs stuck to the bath or my body.

Eminybob · 25/01/2020 02:39

Crockery that has been through the dishwasher. It has a horrible squeakyness to it like nails on a blackboard. I won’t have a dishwasher in my house.

ChicChicChicChiclana · 25/01/2020 02:40

Kissing with tongues.

squeekums · 25/01/2020 03:05

The texture of bananas
The texture of cook peas, cooked carrots

Feet, especially bare. Shoes and socks were invented to hide them.

Drool, human or animal, i start gagging. Has made for some funny
episodes with our big drooly dog. Yes ive gagged when dd drooled as a baby

The noise of licking

The words moist and panties

Metal cutlery on metal bowls or pans. Evil noise, can feel it in my bones

I know, im a weirdo lol

I came on to post this, except they don’t actually make me feel physically sick.

I can’t stand it when someone brushes a hard floor with a stiff broom. The sound is excruciating and goes right through my head. The dentist’s whizzy toothbrush is the same. It doesn’t hurt my teeth, but it really hurts my ears.

AGnu · 25/01/2020 03:35

So many of these! Especially the dirty dishes in the dishwasher one. Except I take it one step further - once the last mouthful is in & my cutlery's down it's all now "dirty" & I can't stand it. If there's leftovers I get really squeamish if I have to scrape them into the bin, despite the fact that I was happily putting the same thing in my mouth moments earlier. I really struggle with even opening the dishwasher when it's dirty. It works out well though - DH doesn't like emptying it so he has to fill it! With all the dishes I've shoved on the side & tried to not look at all day...

MrsGrindah · 25/01/2020 03:48

Oh God I agree with so many of these!
Hate houseplants. I refuse to have them . Especially hate them in the bathroom or toilet.
Can’t bear it when a character on TV leaves a door ajar and don’t like it in my own home
Can’t watch anyone brushing their teeth and can only use one type of toothpaste...all others make me gag
Can’t watch anyone being licked by a dog

Hermie12 · 25/01/2020 03:55

Touching cold cooked food before it’s reheated. It makes me cringe .

Queenoftheashes · 25/01/2020 04:24

Whispering. Was it secret escapes that has an advert with a woman whispering all the way through? Can’t bear it.

Kingoftheroad · 25/01/2020 04:32

People sneezing I absolutely hate it - gives me irrational rage.

The feeling of nail polish on my nails makes me feel suffocated.

Anyone’s toe nails touching me

fjreflycaramel · 25/01/2020 05:15

Warm duvet covers , I must turn mine several times a night,

motortroll · 25/01/2020 05:56

Apple cores 🤷🏻‍♀️

sweetheartyparty · 25/01/2020 06:01

The BBC2 credits with the fur/ feathers moving on the screen. I'm repulsed but compelled to watch it all at the same time

NameChange789435 · 25/01/2020 06:38

When you're getting any kind of lotion or hand cream out of a pump and there's a congealed hard lump that comes out first into your hand 🤮

Andahelterskelterroundmylittle · 25/01/2020 07:09

Used matches ... repulsed by them
Paper touching the skin on my arms or legs

Andahelterskelterroundmylittle · 25/01/2020 07:10

Oh god ... whispering too ..murderous rage activated
Speaking of murderous,rage- any sort of fright

NoFun21 · 25/01/2020 07:14

Cotton wool-any contact with it
Anything stuck to the soles of my feet
People filing their nails or clipping them anywhere near me
People licking their fingers ( I think these last two might be reasonable)

TartanMarbled · 25/01/2020 07:14

Breastfeeding a child that can speak Envy

NoFun21 · 25/01/2020 07:15

Kingoftheroad I also feel suffocated by nail polish! A shellac was torture!

Icedlatte · 25/01/2020 07:18

Breastfeeding - not anyone else doing it, but the actual feeling of ME doing it.
Was fully intending to breastfeed, had no negative feelings about the concept of it at all, but each time DS latched on it felt so alien and would give me a weird reaction where I'd feel like crying and feel all weirded out.
Very odd, as I do believe it's the most natural thing in the world, but it just FELT so unnatural for me

ginandgingers92 · 25/01/2020 07:27

People that put squash in coke bottles/ Fanta bottles/ water bottles etc 😷😷😷😷

Also to a lesser extent, but I have a strong hatred for leather sofas and laminate flooring (not ideal as we have the latter in our lounge!).

Mrsmartinkemp · 25/01/2020 07:30

Teeth squeaking on Woolley gloves - yuk

NigesFakeWalkingStick · 25/01/2020 07:34

Scrubbing carpets with brushes, ie if something's been split and someone is cleaning it. The sound goes straight through me.

Mamabear144 · 25/01/2020 07:38

Velvet, people blowing their nose or coughing, wet clothes, a carpet that isn't super soft, eating with mouths open, heavy breathers, spoons altogether, I just hate spoons
