Has anybody got any weird things that usual people find normal but make you feel v uncomfortable. Mine are I hate dripping water or the feeling of wet cardboard or toilet paper. It makes me cringe wholeheartedly, No idea why.

Pumice stone.

Also when you have the cab of a lorry driving round with no lorry attached, it makes me feel a bit weird Confused

WarmSausageTea · 24/01/2020 23:35

Polystyrene is the devil’s work, as is cheap velour/fleece material.
I can’t bear the feel of warm expelled air from the vacuum cleaner.

SnorkMaiden81 · 24/01/2020 23:38

The bottom cm in a cup of tea. I just boak at the last cm or so.

No idea why.

NextdoorNeighbourIsATwat · 24/01/2020 23:40

Close-up on adverts of mouths - eating, drinking , saying stuff.

Don't know why, but it enrages me Angry

sassafras123 · 24/01/2020 23:40

Nail files urgh! I don't mind someone else filing my nails but I hate doing it myself.
When you wake up with your teeth firmly clamped together.
People making slurpy noises when they eat / drink Bleugh!

NextdoorNeighbourIsATwat · 24/01/2020 23:42

Sorry that was a bit garbled. But say for example, a chewing gum advert where there's a close-up of somebody shovelling a stick of gum into their mouth. That sort of thing.

Makes me punchy.

Bunnyfuller · 24/01/2020 23:42

Children’s loose teeth. I cannot even look when they wiggle them.

Shudde

PickleMyPepper · 24/01/2020 23:42

The pruney skin on fingers and toes when you've sat in the bath/pool for too long Envy
I go shivery just thinking of it.

FrancesFlute · 24/01/2020 23:44

Smell of other people's fruity yogurts makes me feel ill. I can eat them and not mind but when it's someone else's, it's awful. It was difficult weaning DS... Wink

Sonichu · 24/01/2020 23:44

Veins.

EngagedAgain · 24/01/2020 23:45

Gertrude - surely that's marginally better than a cold toilet seat 😆. One of mine is when front teeth kind of clash together when eating, sort of an overbite. Luckily it's a rare thing.

Nandocushion · 24/01/2020 23:46

Houseplants

TheNestedIf · 24/01/2020 23:47

Anything containing sandalwood. To me, it has an undercurrent of flatulence as if someone has sprayed a perfume/air-freshener around to cover up a stomach upset.

EngagedAgain · 24/01/2020 23:50

Yes! To the close ups of mouths on tv. Especially men with facial hair, or sweaty type taking a big bite of a large burger or chicken drumsticks, that kind of thing. Stomach churning.

glowingtwig · 24/01/2020 23:53

I can't stand seeing condensation or whatever it is, dripping from a car exhaust and leaving a trail. Similarly when a lorry has water dribbling from the back door as it trundles along... It's foul and I don't know why!
Other people's fridges. I don't enjoy going in them, even clean people.
Treading in cold puddles of water in swimming pool changing rooms. Lots of dirty water issues here, clearly!

MadeForThis · 24/01/2020 23:54

Symmetrical holes. Makes me feel creepy.

The diagram of teeth in a babies mouth before they come through the gum. I could vomit now.

Heartofglass12345 · 25/01/2020 00:01

Yes to hair that's not attached, the last bit of tea and close ups of mouths! I always leave a bit of tea in the bottom of my cup, it drives my husband mad as he always assumes it's empty and tips it Grin
I hate pockets, I can use them or put my hands in them. I also hate toothpaste dribble when other people are cleaning their teeth

Cineraria · 25/01/2020 00:06

Microfibre cloths and the feel of terracotta pots turn my stomach.

I find teeth really unpleasant even to think about, even nice teeth and don't like it if I can see or feel the shape of people's teeth through their face. My dentist once showed me a giant image of all my teeth on a screen, and I felt awful for ages afterwards. Even now, it makes me shudder.

lurkerino · 25/01/2020 00:07

Dry skin rubbing on clothes eg hands

GarlicSoup · 25/01/2020 00:15

Adults using the word 'ick'

TitchyP · 25/01/2020 00:24

Other people's fridges.

YES! Feels weirdly intrusive and always smells wrong.

I've just realised that I also get twitchy with other people rummaging in our fridge, even DH and DCs. How odd

Firecarrier · 25/01/2020 00:29

Teeth biting on a fork, now I've got the image in my mind after typing that and just the the thought of the noise makes my ears stand on end inside.

In the morning when a few people have done a wee (don't flush at night as it's super noisy) I once jokingly called it 'wee stew' and now it makes me feel like gagging (I imagine the yellow soggy loo roll in my throat)

Well, that was gross, sorry!

Hoik · 25/01/2020 00:30

The bit of skin between your thumb and pointy finger. It makes me so squeamish.

I accidentally sliced through mine while cutting vegetables so it makes me very squeamish now.

Cold toilet seat is far preferable to a warm one.

I hate a warm bed too. If DH goes to bed before me he knows to stay on his side because I can't bear warm sheets/duvet even when its freezing weather. I need a cold bed because I can't sleep unless I'm a little bit chilled.

Eating noises, particularly crunching. I have to have the radio on at mealtimes for background noise to distract me from eating sounds.

lillypainter · 25/01/2020 00:30

I hate the noise of wine being poured in to a glass it makes me cringe. I like to drink it though !

Boireannachlaidir · 25/01/2020 00:34

Being surrounded by crowds of people. Makes me feel slightly nauseous being in close proximity to them e.g. in a busy railway station. Ugh.
