What is the worst programme on TV?

I am off work at the moment and have seen some daytime TV.

I hereby declare that Loose Women is the most unwatchable drivel I've ever tried to endure, ever ever! I can tolerate Naked Attraction and Love Island so have a high pain threshold. But Loose Women - just NO!!!

Which TV programme makes you want to switch off in a hurry?

There is absolutely nothing to argue with in this thread. Everyone is completely right. Dire, dire, stuff.

Dowser · 25/01/2020 12:44

All of daytime tv apart from tenable, tipping point and the chase
All soaps
Talent shows have had their day
Anything with TOWiE, people in ...please tell me Essex people aren’t really like them
The news
Loose women is grim
The one show..please replace this mind numbing drivel with Victoria Derbyshire

We watch Netflix now

Mrs Browns Boys is really and truly horrendous. I don’t watch a lot of telly but dh is a tvaholic and has it on all the time he’s at home.
QI is another one I just can’t stand.
I hate all those stupid quiz shows that come on around 5/6ish. Pointless (never a more apt name for a programme), eggheads, the Chase, tipping point, all that shite.
I’m at work during the week so I don’t see daytime tv. Doesn’t sound like I’m missing much.
Xfactor, the voice, the masked voice, bgt, strictly all of that crap - I just don’t understand who watches any of it! I don’t think I’ve heard any of my friends talk about it, maybe some random work colleagues. I have to say I haven’t actually watched a lot of these myself but I am predicting I’d just hate them Grin
Oh, one more thing before I go, all soaps (who has time to commit themselves to watching so much of the same drivel for years on end?!) and these reality TOWIE type things. A no from me.

AlexaAmbidextra · 26/01/2020 01:14

Too many to list but I have to say Naked Attraction. I have never watched it but was flicking through channels this week and had a look out of curiosity. On to my screen came a close up of a flaccid penis that looked like a giant slug. What a pathetic attention seeking programme and contestants.

AlexaAmbidextra · 26/01/2020 01:18

I’m a Londoner but have lived in Essex for years. No. TOWIE people are far from typical. Sadly you get small enclaves such as Brentwood, Loughton, Chigwell that are full of them. Overall, mid and north Essex are lovely places full of very normal people. Most of us are embarrassed and pissed off at the way TOWIE portrays us and our mostly beautiful county.

HalfManHalfLabrador · 26/01/2020 01:21

Love Island
NCIS

MrsJoshNavidi · 26/01/2020 01:23

Mrs Brown. Dire

ClappyFlappy · 26/01/2020 01:27

Jeremy Kyle was the worst. Using the poor, uneducated and vulnerable as fodder to laugh at - despicable.

I used to like can’t pay we’ll take it away but a post on here a few years ago made me think and it’s just as cruel as JK really.

Love Island, Made in Chelsea, TOWIE, the Kardashians, anything else that celebrates people purely on how they look. Shallow and vacuous nonsense.

No likey no lighty, whatever that’s called.

Big brother, dancing on ice, the voice, bgt.

Match of the day

ClappyFlappy · 26/01/2020 01:28

Also anything like Benefits Street

Dowser · 27/01/2020 11:20

Alexa..I’m pleased to hear it. It’s not a county I’m familiar with. Did a flying trip to Basildon once as my daughter was going to invest in a machine from us and went to see the one in Basildon.

So no chance to get an impression.
I love the daytime quiz shows to keep the grey matter viable.
On tipping point the other day Ben asked the contestant what he would do with his winnings and he said buy a hot tub as his little girl had one of the muscle wasting diseases and hydrotherapyreally helps her.
Bless him..he only won the 10k . He, Ben and silly old sod that I am were all nearly in tears.

I just love it when the team beats the chaser. Two contestants last week won £80k against incredible odds
Fabulous tv that..

We got tix to see Paul Sinha at york fringe last year and he was brilliant. Very funny man.

HalfManHalfLabrador · 13/02/2020 22:40

Naked Attraction. WHY is this a thing?! Who watches it? Who would want to be on it? Who came up with and pitched the idea and WHO commissioned it? ConfusedConfused

Hadenoughofitall441 · 13/02/2020 23:00

I only watch loose women if Stacey Solomon or Christine Lampard is on. I literally cannot stand Janet street porter. I’d have to say holly oaks, everything is so over dramatised, they shout instead of talk most of the time. I’ll have my headphones in when my sister is watching it, beats headphones and they talk so loud I can hear word for word.
