What is the worst programme on TV?

I am off work at the moment and have seen some daytime TV.

I hereby declare that Loose Women is the most unwatchable drivel I've ever tried to endure, ever ever! I can tolerate Naked Attraction and Love Island so have a high pain threshold. But Loose Women - just NO!!!

Which TV programme makes you want to switch off in a hurry?

1. Mrs Browne's boys. It could only be worse if they filmed it naked.
2. Naked attraction. Yuck
3. Love island.

All of the above. All of it. I haven't seen a good programme on TV for AGES! Thank god for Netflix!

And can anyone please explain Mrs Brown's Boys? I have a friend who laughs themselves sick at it, whilst to me it just looks like live action pantomime, with such broad 'humour' that it practically seeps out of the edges of the TV!

Timely thread! I was just thinking last night that most tv is so dumbed down and shite these days. I don't mind a bit of Emmerdale (I got sucked in) and of course everyone has different tastes. But all the fake reality celeb bollocks and shouty stuff like the Masked Singer are fucking awful. How about some quality drama? Decent documentaries on things that matter to people? Too expensive to make, probably. So we're stuck with Britain's Got The Pop Factor Strictly On Ice etc. And twats like David Walliams. He was all over the telly over Christmas (him and Robbie Williams). I read somewhere that they are thinking of bringing back Little Britain. That's exactly what this country needs; more David Walliams. (sarcasm)

I am struggling to think of the last time I watched something on TV as opposed to Netflix. I do flick through the channels from time to time but I can never find anything worth watching.

Yes to loose women and Lorraine - terrible format shows desperately trying to find “interesting topics” to talk about each day - and when one of the “panel” says something really quite average and the audience claps and cheers (!)
All of the soaps but especially eastenders and hollyoaks - depressing and the acting is dire.
Caught a bit of “neighbours” yesterday and laughed out loud and the constant cheesy background music running throughout and ridiculous storylines.
“Miranda” also makes me cringe (not because it’s cringingly funny - it’s just really really bad). That Christmas show she did was just so embarrassing - I really don’t know why it keeps getting rolled out. The main love interest guy in it always looked like he’s mortified!

Anything where people have to buy junk and sell it on. WHY THE FUCK IS THIS ON TV?

The One Show.

There is some great tv but I don't know why it's not on in the daytime/early evening.

There are only 2 shows mentioned so far that I watch, which is Death in Paradise. I'm not suggesting it's of any great quality, but it's formulaic, escapist drivel set in the most beautiful part of the world.

Literally never seen 90% of the shows named here. Only ones I have are Corrie and Eastenders - but not since about 2003, doesn't sound like I'm missing anything.

I do like People Just Do Nothing though.

Agree with loose woman. I used to like it. I don't know whether I've changed or uts changed but it its just cringey crap now.

Another one for Mrs Brown's Boys. Why do they keep commissioning new series ? Same old hackneyed jokes and format.

If it’s got that hideous shouting bald ass-hat Gregg Wallace in it, then it’s the worst thing on television. Anything that man touches instantly becomes suppurating visual and aural torment. He is the tv show killer.

Love Island seems like it must be dire, I've never watched it but I suspect I don't need to as I've never seen a 'want my 10 minutes of fame' show that I've liked, not things like Bake Off or the Pottery throwdown but the stuff like I'm a celebrity, Towie etc etc.

Can’t stand morning tv on any of the channels. Especially Lorraine, Loose Women, Sheriffs are Coming, Ramsay’s Kitchen nightmares.

Never seen love Island dont think I will either ! Most of the morning TV is crap . I Like Wanted Down Under and Father Brown .That it really .BTW and slightly off topic, what did everyone make of Victoria Derbyshires show being axed and her finding out about it re The Times !?

Soap operas are not to my taste and some should be on later at night and/or less often (perhaps twice a week as used to be the case with Eastenders and Coronation Street).

There's a difference in my view between something that is not to my taste and something that is either offensive or simply rubbish. Mrs Brown's Boys is foul mouthed and transphobic and should never be on any tv at all.
