I think it’s well documented that he was bi, perhaps it was an experimental phase he grew out of, along with the drugs.

He certainly seemed genuinely happily married in his latter years, long after there might have been any supposed societal pressure to appear straight, so clearly he wasn’t gay.

I know someone who had a relationship with a couple of girls as a teen/young adult and is now married to a man. In my eyes therefore she is not a lesbian. She’s bi, or was curious and just experimenting back then. So what?
