Which Star Trek ship would you like to serve on?

I love Star Trek and am looking forward to the new series Star Trek Picard on Amazon next week.

I’ve been thinking about which ship I would like to serve on. Tbh it is easy, Voyager!

I’m sure I’m not the only Trek fan (I’m not a Trekkie) here. Let’s see which is the most popular vessel.

Any bloody Cardassians out there can bugger off now.

I love Q too. loved the book 'I,Q' written actually by John de Lancie and Peter David. He just did the role so well.

TheFaerieQueene · 18/01/2020 00:33

Well I’m back and voyager is still the best vessel.

Ideally the millennium Falcon but the one from the 70's before it got crap.

LunchInASunblestBag · 18/01/2020 00:47

Definitely the D under JLP.

Alternatively... the Orville under Mercer Wink

I'm a picky eater with various intolerances, I would starve.

Nah, Neelix would just whip up some version of Chadre'kab that would suit you.

overnightangel · 18/01/2020 08:13

Enterprise D for me too 🙋🏻‍♀️
Definitely wouldn’t want to be on the Discovery, you’d be watching your back constantly as you’d have no idea who you could trust, there seems like loads of terrible ways to die, and Michael Burnham’s god complex would do my head in!

YourOpinionIsNoted · 18/01/2020 08:40

Can't believe so many people want to be on Voyager! I mean, yes, Janeway is awesome, but there's way too much danger, the chances of being assimilated by the Borg are sky high, and you'd have serious cabin fever before long!

NCC1701D all the way. Lovely, lovely Captain Picard to trust in, sexy Riker sitting on chairs here, there and everywhere, and regular shore leave!

HeronLanyon · 18/01/2020 08:41

voyager. Imagine being led by Janeway and with sevenofnine also !!! Swoon.

HeronLanyon · 18/01/2020 08:43

But only if holodeck is banned from allowing ‘old western’ or ‘Irish village’ options.

YourOpinionIsNoted · 18/01/2020 08:46

I'd add Tom's slightly creepy holodeck cabana programme. What are they doing with the bikini clad holograms when they disappear off for a 'massage', hmm?? The Captain Proton one is annoying as hell too. In fact, Tom needs to be banned from the holodeck altogether.

spongedog · 18/01/2020 08:48

Oh yes love the orville but mostly because I laugh at all the in ST jokes? That is the point of that show isnt it?

donquixotedelamancha · 18/01/2020 08:50

Tbh it is easy, Voyager

Is everyone saying this mad? You'd have to listen to Janeway's voice. Being the only other crew member on Wesley Crusher's personal shuttle would be less annoying.

HeronLanyon · 18/01/2020 08:50

Yes! The holodeck needs to be locked down to our personal choices !
Went to amazing Greek waterfall canyon a few years ago and do and I kept saying ‘this is so beautiful and otherworldly it feels like the holodeck’ no one else there to hear the madness thank god

TheFaerieQueene · 18/01/2020 08:52

Yes I have to agree that the holo deck was a sorry place on voyager. That said, Seska added some spice there.

I remember being blown away by TNG's musical theme, and, yes, the ship is very flashy and the crew very good-looking, but it all works too well, unlike the raketiness and ingenuity of Voyager and Archer-Enterprise. However, from memory, Archer's really letting the monkeys run the circus, and I, like T'Pol, would find that infuriating! Meanwhile, both Picard and Janeway displayed massive favouritism. For friendships, I reckon Voyager had the most interesting people: B'Elanna, the Doctor, Seven. Neelix, too, in small doses (I feel sorry for him.and feel he'd be less annoying if he were less insecure and overlooked).

Lweji · 18/01/2020 08:56

Enterprise, but I was too young the first time, so it's Chris Pine for me (sadly now too old).

GrinGrinGrin at the mention of the Millenium Falcon.

Haven’t watched voyager for years and years. This thread is in danger of undoing all of my domestic chore/admin plans for today !

Star trek? Nah. Give me a trip on the Serenity any day!

Zaphodsotherhead · 18/01/2020 09:44

We named our cat Tenagra, after Darmoc...

But I am just imagining that nobody here has properly appreciated the glories of Marcus the Ranger in B5. Sigh.

CaptainCallisto · 18/01/2020 10:02

Zaphod my hamsters were called Darmok and Jelad when I was a teenager Grin i even made a little sign for their cage that said Tenagra
