What is your least favourite takeaway?

Reserve from the usual

You will never find me ordering an Indian takeaway as it is my least favourite food.

Doner kebab. I just don’t understand how anyone can think that the greasy, scraped-off-the-floor, god-knows-what-meat-it-is actually tastes good!

It stinks 😷

A shish kebab on the other hand, proper chunks of meat, is delicious in a floury pitta, lots of salad and mayonnaise.

iklboo · 05/01/2020 17:45

Just thought - Thai. I've tried lots of different dishes but never found one I like.

SinglePringle · 05/01/2020 17:45

Never order/take out:

Fried chicken
Pizza
Kebabs from kebab shops
Chinese (but adore dim sum in restaurants)
Burgers
Fish and chips or variations of ‘x and chips’

Do order:

Indian (always have a shashlik, sag paneer, dhal and lemon rice)
Japanese - sashimi and sushi
Turkish meze inc grilled chicken breast kebabs

poshredrose · 05/01/2020 17:48

Chinese
We used to have take away locally that was the best. It closed and everytime I ordered from somewhere else I didn't enjoy it so I gave up.

Namethecat · 05/01/2020 17:50

Chinese I find the MSG makes my heart race .

misspiggy19 · 05/01/2020 17:50

Chinese- the Chinese food served in this country is rubbish.

IncyWincyGrownUp · 05/01/2020 17:50

Fish and chips. It’s usually just congealed batter and wet grey fish. I will only have fish if I’m actually at the seaside and eating it as soon as it’s served.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 05/01/2020 17:51

Thai. I cannot abide the taste of lemongrass and it is used quite a lot in Thai food.

Kebabs remind me of dog food.

MyFamilyAndOtherAnimals1 · 05/01/2020 17:54

Anything with too much cheese/is processed-beyond-the-point-of-being-recognisable. And too much oily-greese gives me the runs.

TotheletterofthelawTHELETTER · 05/01/2020 17:56

Indian or Thai

greenlavender · 05/01/2020 17:56

Chinese. You can always taste the msg.

Foghead · 05/01/2020 17:58

Hate takeaway pizza and chinese though I love them both in decent restaurants.

Squigean · 05/01/2020 17:59

All of them. Not sure why but I just don't enjoy hot food that has been transported. Specifically hot food - so a sushi delivery I'd probably be okay with.

If I had to have a takeaway it would be a toss up between Chinese or pizza. Though I think Chinese is the winner (or loser more correctly i suppose) as I wouldn't go into a take-away type Chinese even to eat in.

So in a nutshell.(after my overlong monologue) my least favourite is chinese ...

goldenorbspider · 05/01/2020 18:00

Fish and chips. It's just so bland

AgeLikeWine · 05/01/2020 18:00

KFC. Greasy, unpleasant rubbish.

I’m not a fan of Dominos pizza, either. M&S make much nicer ones, for a fraction of the price.

SuperMeerkat · 05/01/2020 18:00

Thai is rank. Indian is mega!!

ItWasntMyFault · 05/01/2020 18:07

Pizza here too. They are only good if eaten in an Italian restaurant. Takeaway ones and supermarket ones are horrible.

iklboo · 05/01/2020 18:09

In order of what I would choose:

Indian
Chinese
Burger (local posh burger place)
Pizza (from local proper Italian restaurant)
Fish & chips (great chippy nearby)
Sushi
Greek
Turkish

Need to try:

Lebanese
Caribbean

NigesFakeWalkingStick · 05/01/2020 18:10

We've got an amazing stone baked Pizza takeaway around here so whilst I'd normally always say it's my least favourite because I hate stodgy, grease laden pizzas from kebab shops, this one is immense.

On the flip side there are no decent Chinese takeaways where I'm at - plenty serve the area but they're shit.

Can't stand fried chicken.

It's always either pizza. Indian (we have a great one just down the road) or Thai (again, brilliant one a stones throw)

MotherHeggy · 05/01/2020 18:11

Indian,Chinese or curry. Hate them.

notangelinajolie · 05/01/2020 18:13

Chinese.

MrsGrindah · 05/01/2020 18:14

Chinese ...sorry but I don’t think they do vegetable dishes well at all ( of course I haven’t tried all the Chinese!) . And I need bread.

Sandsnake · 05/01/2020 18:15

Another here for pizza, unless from a proper Italian restaurant/ takeaway. It just doesn’t do it for me at all. I’ll occasionally enjoy it if hungover though!

EntirelyAnonymised · 05/01/2020 18:15

Indian.

I’ll eat it if everyone else wants it but it is never my personal first choice.

Kn0ckOnTheDoor · 05/01/2020 18:23

kebab shops or thai
