Blue for five pound notes. I recall one pound notes being green, remember those good old days!!

Geometricprince · 04/01/2020 23:03

I'm late 30s and we used to call them something to do with being blue (too old to remember what sorry Grin) when I was a kid so they must have been blue for a while

Mrsmummy90 · 04/01/2020 23:03

Blue

Elieza · 04/01/2020 23:04

Blue.

The one pound notes were the green ones incidentally.

Twentys are pinky purple.

Fiftys are brown I think but it’s that long since I’ve seen one!!!!

Hundreds, now you’ve got me. Pink?

TheMemoryLingers · 04/01/2020 23:04

They were grey, purple and totally unattainable in my youth!

Shockers · 04/01/2020 23:04

They’re a greeny shade of blue, but not green.

Hopefulmidwife · 04/01/2020 23:04

The new plastic-y ones are like a turquoise colour. The old ones are green

PurpleCrowbar · 04/01/2020 23:04

Blue. One pound notes used to be green!

Fivers aren't even turquoise. Deffo blue.

dungtwicebother · 04/01/2020 23:04

We found a €200 note last year on the pavement in France!

We need £200 notes Grin

£5 = Blue. They used to be white a long, long time ago. One pound notes used to be green, and ten shilling (50p) notes were a rusty red/brown colour.

beingchampion · 04/01/2020 23:05

Blue/turquoise. Green for pounds, brown for tenners and red for fifties.

Although they were white a long time ago, I think they changed pre-decimalisation.

TheMemoryLingers · 04/01/2020 23:06

There is no £100 Bank of England note, although there are sterling £100 notes issued by other banks.

£50 note is pink.
