Blue

GeorgieTheGorgeousGoat · 04/01/2020 23:06

Wikipedia says turquoise so I guess everyone is right! It just depends on how far green / blue you see.

NeilTheBaby · 04/01/2020 23:06

According to the bank of England blue/green

What colour are five pound notes?
Turquiose · 04/01/2020 23:07

Blue of course. Unless you're colourblind. Actually can you colourblind for blue? Maybe that's red and green.

BertieBotts · 04/01/2020 23:07

Fifties are red. If you rub one on a piece of paper and it's genuine some of the red will come off.

Looneytune253 · 04/01/2020 23:07

Eh? They're GREEN?

dungtwicebother · 04/01/2020 23:07

I win!

He is totally colour blind and oblivious

They are definitely blue !

We need the argument.

dungtwicebother · 04/01/2020 23:10

He is only appreciative of the two votes for turquoise

That's interesting about the Bank of England's description and the £50 note I thought they were red not that I've seen that many...! Guess it's how you see it them then. My dh and I often disagree on colours. That's why we have trouble agreeing on paint colours. Totally goes off topic...

dungtwicebother · 04/01/2020 23:11

He originally stated categorically they were green and twenties were blue
Hmm

He now wants to know what colour the after eights box is

OP posts:
MrsPear · 04/01/2020 23:13

Green

Turquiose · 04/01/2020 23:14

After Eights? He's a kidder isn't he? Everyone knows they're navy blue....

alexdgr8 · 04/01/2020 23:14

they are blue, but the kind of blue that is heading towards green in the spectrum. always have been. maybe more intense now plastic.
the old white fivers were a v long time ago, doubt anyone on here has handled any, they were known a sandwich wrappers, as so big.

TheMemoryLingers · 04/01/2020 23:14

I wonder how long it will take for inflation to necessitate the £50 note being something we routinely carry in our wallets, and for the BOE to issue a £100 note?

Or will cash have become obsolete by the time that happens?

Spied · 04/01/2020 23:14

£5 blue
£20 purple
fter Eights box is green. Dark bottle green

Geometricprince · 04/01/2020 23:15

After eights, now they're green.

TheMemoryLingers · 04/01/2020 23:15

After Eights - dark green.

Geometricprince · 04/01/2020 23:15

Dark green

Turquiose · 04/01/2020 23:15

What colour does he say it is (after 8's)OP? Think he may be having a bit of a wind- up here...

StarbucksSmarterSister · 04/01/2020 23:18

Although they were white a long time ago, I think they changed pre-decimalisation.

I'm 63 and I never saw one, I think they went in the early 1950s. Apparently they were easy to forge.

zoobincan · 04/01/2020 23:18

Our £50 notes are green Grin

dungtwicebother · 04/01/2020 23:20

He says the after eights ARE green but so are the fivers

Two shades of green light and dark
