DP and I disagree over what colour fivers are.....

What says Mumsnet?

Greenish blue. Teal if you want to be fancy. It's not a blue blue IYSWIM. The fiver is nowhere near as blue as the Mumsnet logo for example.

The previous paper fiver was greener.

Pound notes are way before my time.

I think you could say the fiver's blueish green though. There's some greener shades and some bluer shades on the design.

It is turquoise
Old one more green

MolyHolyGuacamole · 04/01/2020 23:27

Both £5 notes and after 8s are green

TheMemoryLingers · 04/01/2020 23:29

Pound notes were unmistakably green (old enough to remember). My grandparents used to give me a pound note for Christmas, and it felt like I possessed the wealth of nations!

Excited101 · 04/01/2020 23:30

Green! £20 is pink and blue isn’t it??

OvenGlovesWillTearUsApart · 04/01/2020 23:31

The £5 is teal, darlings.

zoobincan · 04/01/2020 23:31

I have pound notes in my purse

Izzybuzzybuzzybees · 04/01/2020 23:31

£1 notes definitely green :)

£5 are very much blue

blue

MrsMoastyToasty · 04/01/2020 23:34

Scottish £100 notes are red. I've only ever seen one in RL (and I worked for an English branch of a Scottish bank in the past)

zoobincan · 04/01/2020 23:34

Very green - I don't have a fiver to compare it with though 🙄

£100 are more of a dark pink colour

CormoranStrike · 04/01/2020 23:36

Blue

dementedpixie · 04/01/2020 23:38

Scottish £50 note is green

TheMemoryLingers · 04/01/2020 23:38

DH remembers 10 shilling notes and they were brown, apparently!

dementedpixie · 04/01/2020 23:40

I'm in scotland so I don't know if our £5 notes are more blue than English ones

ALongHardWinter · 04/01/2020 23:41

Green.

You tend to see £50s if people have exchanged money abroad — I used to hate it as a student because I was treasurer for a society and the tellers would always look at me as if I were dodgy when I went to pay subs in!

MyDcAreMarvel · 04/01/2020 23:48

Green

dimdarkashian · 04/01/2020 23:53

Blue

Scottish ones are definitely more blue but I'd still say english ones are blue too

P.s. these are DS's as I've borrowed them out his wallet!

HemlockStarglimmer · 05/01/2020 00:10

Blue. Scottish fivers certainly are. English ones are a bit more turquoise. Definitely not green.

TitchyP · 05/01/2020 00:38

£5 are green. (DH says blue). We argue about blue/green a lot.

£5 used to be very blue when I was small. And £1 notes green. I still have some somewhere.
