Mine would be the fake diamond engagement ring, the story got picked up by the fail I think so we never heard what happened.

The threads about the lady with 4 kids, I think 3 boys including a 2 year old and a daughter. The oldest had additional needs and wanted his own room. They were living in a small house and she was struggling to work out the room sharing situation. She has suffered bad abuse was her ex and didn’t have any money. It just sounded so stressful. I remember she said people on her were offering her money/ vouchers but she said no as that’s not why she was posting.

I would love to know how the one on relationships board that was prepping to leave her cheating husband is getting on.
She had a storage unit and everyone was giving her tips from buying school uniform two sizes bigger, paying for her gym membership a year in advance upfront, buying giftcards during the weekly food shop etc etc. She was waiting for some money to come through before she left him. Can’t remember her name so don’t know if she ever updated.

The one where the OP saw texts from her teacher/group leader(?) husband to a teenage girl after they had been on a residential trip.

The one recently where the DH has built dangerous stairs to a mezzanine level in the DCs bedroom and the OP had called the building inspector. It disappeared so wondering if the OP asked for it to be deleted.

@HalfManHalfLabradorhalfman yes the painting under the bed! I remember that one. Also @YesIReallyDoLikeRootBeer I remember that one too. She was being accused of having an affair with the friends husband and said she had a load of facebook messages and when she confronted the husband he was mortified. I loved that one. She had like 3 threads worth. I'd love to know how she is getting on.

Me too, she sounded batshit.

I've tried to rtft but haven't quite managed it - has anyone else asked about the v long thread in Relationships (I think) about 3-4ish years ago by a young woman, I got the sense possibly from a Scandi country, married to an older British man and living here - he was very very wealthy and they had 2 kids and he was just horrendously sexually and emotionally abusive - one particularly horrible story she had involved him pulling her bikini bottoms down in the sea on a busy beach and leaving her to get out of the water semi-naked; he shared pictures of her/info about their sex life with his ghastly-sounding friends etc... Sex life was horrific, he just did whatever he wanted, with or without her consent :(

She had no-one except an aunt who she could turn to and was worried if she left him he would get the kids. She was trying to study, I think, although he didn't want her to work (I think she already had a Masters)

I have occasionally wondered if it was a troll but she sounded so despairing. Mind you, I'm rubbish at judging!

Assuming it WAS true, I think of her surprisingly regularly, for a total stranger, and hope she managed to get out with her kids.

I came on here to say the same thread. But this describes it far more clearly than I could remember.
The one from a few years ago where OP had queried a £500? annual payment for each house in her new road. People had been paying it for years but after some digging it wasn't clear where the money was going or if it was legit.

Been wondering for ages what happened with that one and whether it was real.

If I remember rightly, it wasn’t a private road and the OP had recently moved there and wasn’t paying this “maintenance fee” but one of the neighbours asked her about it and said everybody on the street paid it, but he had no idea what it was for or where the money was going. The OP’s username was something like hiphoppotamus, but can’t remember the thread title and haven’t been able to find it again.

Not that long ago (maybe 2 months ago), there was a post on the AIBU board where the posters teenage DS had a girlfriend who was pregnant and wanted to support her but it supposedly wasn't his baby, but a lot of the posters said they thought it was his but he didn't want to tell his mum. The poster was going to confront her son, but I can't remember if she came back? Anyone remember?
