January is the most popular time of year for booking a holiday. So have you booked yours yet?

Also might pop and see DH's cousin in Denmark for a long weekend.

DivisionBelles · 03/01/2020 07:35

Crete probably in October. Looking at a smart boutique hotel with a swim up pool. No DC to worry about as one is at uni and the other is 23, so just me and DH. Few weekends in the UK planned before then too.

AuntieMarys · 03/01/2020 07:37

Adult only 5 star hotel in Lindos for 2 weeks.
Budapest for 4 days.
Week in Wales
2 weekends away in this country..Lakes and Yorkshire.

Scotland. Going from Edinburgh to Inverness and all between. I'm a big Outlsnder fan so will be visiting some if the film locations. But most of all going to Culloden. Have always wanted to go since my Granda told me about the battle as a little girl. My DDIL is taking me for my birthday.

cheeseismydownfall · 03/01/2020 07:45

Having flown a great deal over the past few years (working overseas) we are getting increasingly uncomfortable with the idea of flying for pleasure. So we are going to try and avoid it.

So far we've booked a week in a gite in the south of France in August (driving) and I am currently planning a trip to North Africa by train for the October half term (the kids get two weeks off school). Really excited by this, although realistically the train will cost around five times more than flying.

We will also have some weekend breaks around the UK - Norfolk, Wales, Peaks. Probably glamping for some of those.

lovelyupnorth · 03/01/2020 07:45

Off to Ghana at the end of the month.

Then somewhere else in the Summer after DDs A-Levels before she goes to South Africa.

snowone · 03/01/2020 07:50

Nowhere at the minute because it's so fecking expensive!

It's really paining me how much we are going to have to spend to go abroad for a week!

But hopefully a villa on the Costa Blanca 🤞🏼

81Byerley · 03/01/2020 08:05

Cheshire for a week!

Natsku · 03/01/2020 08:07

Not booking anything yet, cannot plan that far ahead, but will probably have a trip over to the UK to see family. And have decided we'll definitely have a shorter break at some point in the summer, to take the children to Moominworld because toddler DS is obsessed

Turquoisetamborine · 03/01/2020 08:11

We had two weeks in florida in November so nothing too expensive as we are saving up.

Four nights near Loch Lomond in a lakeside lodge at Feb half term.

H is going to a big event in Tampa in April as its his 40th so we've all chipped in for that.
While he's there I'm taking the kids and my two best friends and their kids to my dad's caravan in the Lakes. Eight of us in a six berth caravan should be fun! Beautiful place though.

May half term we are away for 9 nights in Vilamoura with my parents. They got a great deal on a beautiful Airbnb so we just had to get our flights.

In the summer hols I'm going back to the Lakes for a couple of nights in Kendal so we can do some NT places, Beatrix Potter world etc.

V envious of some of these holidays! We have problems because of not knowing how DD will react to being out of routine ( undiagnosed ASD). Our week in Majorca 2 years ago was challenging to say the least & it’s a lot of money to shell out. Having said that, the hotel was fantastic & we got a free upgrade to an apartment with a swim up pool. DD often talks about going back & her memories of the holiday are very different to ours so we’ll see how our finances are.
Lucky enough to live in Cornwall so staycations are definitely no hardship! Would love to take DD to Harry Potter World as she’s a huge fan. Anyone know where to find the best deals?

TheCanterburyWhales · 03/01/2020 08:30

There are sadly no deals I've ever seen to HP world as it gets sold out sometimes months in advance...I've taken groups of kids and also been with just dd and a couple of others, for summer hols you need to be booking at least a couple of months before.

lowlandLucky · 03/01/2020 08:36

Northumberland in April and October, Edinburgh in March, Galloway later this month and somewhere sunny with my best friend in September when the children have gone back to school. The rest will be last minute bookings

TrickyD · 03/01/2020 08:39

A week’s ski holiday at a Club Med in France next Sunday, taking DS2 and his adult son, plus DS1, his partner and their toddler. Then first two weeks in February, just with DH, a cruise up the coast of Norway to the Arctic hoping to see the Northern Lights if we are lucky. A short break to Florence in March, possibly a week in Tuscany with friends in May, but no definite arrangements for that yet. Annual Caribbean holiday with all the family, nine of us, in July.

Just starting to think about booking something for the autumn.

We are retired and making the most of it as long as our health permits.

Sunnydaysrock · 03/01/2020 08:44

Florida in July (not just doing parks, so much more there), 10 days Orlando, 6 at Clearwater Beach. Cyprus in Oct.
2019 was harsh for us as a family. Determined 2020 will be much better.

thefemaleJoshLyman · 03/01/2020 08:44

Menorca for two weeks in August. Will try and book a second break at Easter but could be visiting friends in Scotland or abroad. Might grab a night away with DH later in the year.

PoliticallyHomeless · 03/01/2020 08:55

Japan for the Olympics. Super excited Smile

AdoreTheBeach · 03/01/2020 08:57

For our wedding anniversary, we’re going to the beautiful Sintra near Lisbon (and a day in Lisbon). Only found out about this stunning place the night before our city break in Lisbon came to an end. Going back this summer and staying in Sintra in an amazing looking boutique hotel (no kids coming with us this time).

MinkowskisButterfly · 03/01/2020 08:58

No holiday this year. We are saving to go to dlp in a couple of years time. No holiday until then, bit that is no hardship as we haven't been on holiday for 7/8 years.

Xmasfairy86 · 03/01/2020 09:00

Portugal for a week in the summer
Wales for a week over Xmas (first time ‘away’ for Xmas, can’t wait!) - booked Jan 1st 😂

Will hopefully do some weekends in some cities at some point

CharlotteMD · 03/01/2020 09:02

Barbados.

nodtik · 03/01/2020 09:06

Booked a cruise to Norway and also a trip to Marrakesh - so feeling very spoilt!

Will be saving hard until they're paid for though 😳 xxx

pontiouspilates · 03/01/2020 09:09
